My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. It's a very clean and good-smelling hotel - spacious room and comfortable beds. Allan, the person at the check- in desk was extremely helpful- showed us 3 types of twin rooms and let us choose the room that we were satisfied with. This hotel is just 2 minutes away from Puerta... Very friendly reception! The rooms are a bit small (on their site they show only the suite) but very clean. Perhaps not the best rooms to sleep during the weekend because of street noise. On week days quite calm and easy.

This hotel is new and cosy to me. Staffs friendly and helpful. Speak excellent English. Room with a large painting and new bed. Clean and make me slept well. I didn't try the breakfast because I'm too rush to the airport. I will come back for this hotel and I think the price is ok.

We stopped only for day here in Madrid. Looking for an hotel close to the center. This is just 5 min walking from Plaza de mayor, which is really the center. WiFi works well, safe, room is huge. Very recommended.

Our experience at this hotel was not completely bad, but there are definitely some big things that bothered us and that could have made our experience much better. First, we arrived carrying many suitcases since we have travelled for a long time and Madrid was our last stop. The elevator was broken so we had to enter from another side... More

I got the 4 bed room for my family and it was comfortable and clean. Very close to the train station (10 minutes by taxi) and walking distance to the city centre. Definitely recommend it as the price is also pretty good when booked jn advance. The breakfast is not in the same building though, but that is a minor... More

We stayed 3 nights in this hostel. Price was good. Location is good, it is very close to puerto del sol. Hotel was very clean and rooms were big. Only bad thing i need to say, it was noisy, street was very crowded but we loved it. If i came again, i would like to stay there.

This was the 6th hotel I have stayed in in Madrid over the years and the one I would have no hesitation in recommending. Location is excellent and quiet considering it's less than a min from Sol. (other guests were quite load though). The staff are great, rooms are large and very comfortable and the design is excellent. Pricey, but... More

The room was quite alright for 3 people, the staff were very kind and helpful as to recommendations. Regardless of what the hotel has to offer on the inside, it's the location that makes it perfect. Plaza Del Sol is less than 1 minute away from this hotel and restaurants and Pubs are just under the Hotel and around it.... More

We stayed there for the Madrid Marathon 2012. A bit hard to find at first, few doors and we happen to get through service door. Main entrance a lot better:) Clean and tidy, friendly stuff. A bit hard to enter as after certain time you need to ring a bell downstairs. Breakfast in a restaurant behind a corner, took as... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
