I had asked for a non-smoking room but the room they gave me had a very strong smell of smoking. I asked to change the room and they first said they did not have any other room. But there were some rooms that were still empty, with the gests expected to arrive later. But they simply didn't want to allow... more

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is ideally located to restaurants and all the local attractions. We were able to walk or take public transportation to everything. The rooms were a little small but it was nice and clean. The breakfast is typical for these types of hotels; bread, ham, cheese, pastries, cereal, coffee and juice. The staff... more

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Breakfast is OK, rooms are clean (though small), localisation is excellent (in a no-car area), people are helpful... I would certainly recommend. more

This hotel, ideally located to take advantage of Madrid's nightlife and its cultural attractions, offers cheap, clean rooms with few frills. The breakfast is adequate. There is wifi but it only works in the lobby. A computer is available for guests to use. The bathroom in our room was tiny, but suitable. This is where you go if you want... more

I spent 6 nights at Hostal Persal when I was spending my Easter holidays in Madrid. After reading the reviews here, I was a bit afraid about what I shall find. But I was very satisfied with the hotel. After I had booked online and got confirmation, I emailed the hotel to ask for a room on the 4th floor... more

This place was wonderful!!! I stayed with a large group of friends and everybody was happy with it. PROS- The rooms were very nice. We were in a quad room on the second fllor and it was a little bit of a pinch for four 20 something girls and their luggage but we were a tad bit over packed. ;)... more

I chose the Persal because it is located exactly where I wanted to be. The hotel is very close to Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Prado. I was very impressed with some of the restaurants around the hostal. The room was a bit small, but that was already expected. There was only 1 outlet in the room and 1 outlet... more

I've just spent a long weekend in Madrid with my daughter and son. We shared a triple room at the Hostal Persal and it was ideal for us. I booked the room via the website which shows photographs and videos of the hostal itself and the nearby Plaza Santa Ana. The location is superb, right in the centre of Madrid,... more

I chose Hostal Persal mainly for its location, and its price. I had stayed for a period at a nicer hotel in the Plaza Santa Anna (Roommates Alicia), and wanted to be back in that great area, but not paying quite so much this time. Hostal Persal was a good option. It's central, but quiet. At the time of my... more
