Not really a 4-star, but fab location. The hotel needs polishing up a little to really meet the standard and the reception staff during our stay were not uber friendly .... That said, the room was cleaned well every day and the location could not have been better. Worth it if you get a good deal..

Great location, very close to the local landmarks and Gran Via metro station. Rooms are clean, quiet and air conditioned. One disappointment was breakfast, definitely not worth getting up for, you're better of going to the Starbucks across the street.

Firstly, the hotel is in a great location. Located on a side street off of Gran Via, just a 2 minute walk from the Subway station. There's shopping, restaurants, ATM's near the hotel. Our room was clean and perfectly suitable however the décor really needs updating. It felt very empty in the room and the TV was from the 90's.... More

I've lived in Madrid for 2 years and I must say there's very few locations as good as this one, undoubtedly the strongest point of this hotel. One of the receptionists was ok, the other didn't even reply to my "buenas tardes". The shape of one of the elevators is great, worth photographing. Now let's get to the room. Size... More

This was my 4th visit to BW Arosa. A few changes have occured, but to the better. The reception is finally located on the ground floor, which is less confusing for 1st time visitors. I always manage to get this hotel at a great price. Located in Madrid City Centre, 20m from Gran Via, 5min walk to Callo and about... More

The hotel offers an excellent location, walking distance to major shopping district and within a short walk to most all tourist destinations. Breakfast buffet was excellent with food options representing many cultures. Hotel was an excellent price value. Would certainly stay there again and suggest to others.

This is a typical European tourist hotel with a small street presence but very roomy inside. It is well located for walking to most tourist activities being 50 feet off the Grand Via. Our room was very nice with a sizable balcony overlooking the Grand Via; despite all the traffic below, room was quiet with substantial patio doors. Staff was... More

This is hotel is fantastically located, and I was given a large room. All very neat and well looked after. The bed was very low, but comfortable... And the one of the elevators is easily the smallest one I have ever seen. I checked out too early to eat breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on that. The one... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
