Stayed for 3 nights . Had a Japanese style room . Room clean , lovely bath/shower . Great cleaning service daily . Asked for extra pillows received same quickly . Unfortunately there are significant building works going on in building next to hotel and this noise woke us early , our balcony door also didn't shut properly so this didn't... More

Very good location. Close to shops and restaurants, easy to get around from its location. Good breakfast. Staffs were very friendly. Room with a confortable bed and clean, so I would stay again . Good internet free.

I have stayed at the Arosa for over thirty years. I appreciate the location and the comfortable rooms. This time I got a room with a balcony looking over the Gran Via. I loved the view. The windows are insulated against the noise of the street. They also have several good conference rooms for small meetings.

Arrived at Hotel Arosa to be greeted by ill humored front desk staff. Unfriendly and unhelpful. Room was ok, bed was not comfortable but not terrible. Location is definitely great. I was unable to have breakfast, and the staff were not very helfpul in giving me a boxed lunch.

On arrival first impressions in lobby were not good, everything was a little shabby including the staff. Got worse when we exited lift on our floor, carpet was absolutely filthy! The room itself was clean and a good size and the breakfast good.

We staid with 3 persons for 6 nights in this hotel. We had room 718. That was at the back of the hotel. It had lots of space. We had 3 separate beds. The beds were large. I'm 6 feet and the bed was 2 meters. Great! We didn't hear anything from outside. There was airconditioning and a mini bar.... More

Just had the second visit to this hotel and must say it is excellent value. Right in the centre of Madrid with easy access to everything you could want to see and the metro. Basic accommodation - but clean- and good air conditioning in comparison with other hotels I have stayed in Madrid. Reception staff fine and helpful- rooms cleaned... More

Visited some time ago and the most memorable recollection is the view I had from my room which looked out on Gran Via. Perhaps the hotel needs a bit of renovating in some parts but It is definitely clean and offers a good breakfast. Surely, it is worth spending a bit more euros than in other cheaper places of accommodation... More

As a solo traveller I found this hotel safe and friendly. Reception, though small, was pleasantly decorated. All staff were polite, friendly and attentive to their guests needs. Breakfast was included in my booking with BA. There were many Japanese guests. Miso soup and rice with seasoning was available for breakfast to suit oriental dietary requirements. I was impressed that... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
