This hotel claims to have 4 stars but I really struggled to see how this could be so. The hotel is dark, noisy, the lifts are pretty scary, the rooms cramped and very very basic. Only BBC world and CNBC English channels available. Rooms also look really tired. They face inward - and look directly into each other - and... More

I liked this hotel a lot, the room was very comfortable, nicely furnished and kept very clean. The staff were friendly and it was in a good location near to a metro stop and ten minutes walk to the park de el retiro. My main issue with this hotel is that the room smelled very smoky and one night I... More

The room was a little on the dark side , not much natural light however we were not in our room for to long during the day so not really a problem. The room was clean and spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was a good size and there was a good variety of complimentary products which was great as... More

We stayed at this hotel for a few nights and really liked it. Friendly staff and clean rooms. While it's not in the heart of everything it is only a few blocks from the park. Breakfast is nice but expensive. Only complaint are the lifts which are very slow!

Wonderful hotel! In very good area! The room was beautiful, clean and very fancy. All people are friendly. All hotel areas are very well decorated and clean. The breakfast buffet full with any king of tastes even for the more pretentious.

Stayed at the Vincci Soma last week as a friend and I were gong to see Robbie Williams at the Barclaycard Center stadium. Flew into Barajas and it was an easy, half hour, Metro journey with Goya metro station situated literally across the road - couldn't be better. Very friendly, English speaking reception staff who offered us an upgrade at... More

Located really close to best shopping area (Serrano) in Madrid. Very close to subway stations. Really great facilities and services. Amazing rooms and bathrooms, recently renovated. Gym lacking space and equipment. Great breakfast!!! Very large and varied buffet. Personnel very friendly and helpful.

I had a very enjoyable stay for a few nights at the Vincci Soma recently whilst in Madrid on a business trip. The top attraction of this hotel property is definitely its location, as it is just a few steps away from main shops such as H&M, El Corte Ingles, Mango etc. on Goya avenue. Many nice restaurants and an... More

Simplicity, neatness and convenience are the best characteristic to describe this 4* property located in a central area of Madrid. As a solo woman travelling on business, I felt safe at all times in this neighbourhood. There are plenty of restaurant options around the hotel , but in any case moving around late at night is not an issue in... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
