Average hotel in an average location. No pool even though simming pool pictures are everywhere. Not sure which Vincci hotel has a pool. Gym tiny and hard to find. Restuarant rather expensive. Difficult finding 'English' food explanations close to hotel.

Close to sub way,and good shopping areas. Rooms are good size but shower too narrow. Breakfast was ok , but they run out of tea bags at breakfast. Front desk staff very helpful . You can walk to square in about 20 min. Lift to floors are slow, so be prepared to walk.

This hotel is in one of the best areas in Madrid, near shops, restaurants, well communicated to airport and train stations. Rooms are modern and clean. We were upgraded to a superior room with a nice little patio which we really enjoyed in hot summer nights. Very recommended place if you are looking for a place quite central. Retiri park... More

Stayed here for a business conference recently. The conference team who managed our event were excellent and the event ran perfectly! The buffet/tapas style lunch was tasty and I ate far too much! The hotel itself has an excellent restaurant with a great choice of breakfast. The bedrooms are a good size and modern - my only complaint was the... More

Rooms need to be refurbished, repairs are done badly, notice from other rooms. Breakfast above average. Hotel could be cleaner and lighter. Location is nice next to shopping are. Hotel is great only for location good but the rest is not 4* except good breakfast

This is my third business conference visit. Proximity to our offices and location is very convenient. Rooms good size. Door between room and cupboards annoying as when open blocks entry into bathroom .... messy combo. My room was nice and airy with a lot of natural light. However others facing into courtyard seemed dark and lacking natural light. Gym rather... More

We stayed in a one bedroom. We found the rooms to be very clean, modern and comfortable. Very happy considering the price we paid for the room. Great value! Also the location is excellent for shopping and places to eat and drink. Metro is close by also.

I smile when a hotel is better than expected, but this didn't happen with Soma. Without being asked, I was put in a smoking room, although they did rectify this. Rooms are ok but lack the small things - no free water bottle, no iron, limited bathroom bits. Iron came on third request and more than 24hrs after first request.... More

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel, but became ill the day before I was to check in. I called and asked if they could offer me either a refund or a credit for a stay in the future, but the (very rude) manager told me there was nothing he could do for me. This was despite the... More

This hotel claims to have 4 stars but I really struggled to see how this could be so. The hotel is dark, noisy, the lifts are pretty scary, the rooms cramped and very very basic. Only BBC world and CNBC English channels available. Rooms also look really tired. They face inward - and look directly into each other - and... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
