I had a very enjoyable stay for a few nights at the Vincci Soma recently whilst in Madrid on a business trip. The top attraction of this hotel property is definitely its location, as it is just a few steps away from main shops such as H&M, El Corte Ingles, Mango etc. on Goya avenue. Many nice restaurants and an... More

Simplicity, neatness and convenience are the best characteristic to describe this 4* property located in a central area of Madrid. As a solo woman travelling on business, I felt safe at all times in this neighbourhood. There are plenty of restaurant options around the hotel , but in any case moving around late at night is not an issue in... More

We got switched to a king size bed from two double beds by a super nice gentleman at the front desk. He helped us find the hours for the post office and helped with any questions we had. The hotel is a block away from the Red Metro line. This line takes you to most of the main museums and... More

I spent two nights for business reasons. I had (by mistake?) a smoking room but it was clean and tidy so I did not ask to change. Room was large enough but the double bed was made by two singles so I could use only one. Breakfast was excellent with a nice variety of choices very well presented. Service in... More

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. Although the rooms are a little tired looking they are comfortable. Have stayed at the Vincci in Malaga and it was more luxurious! The best thing about the hotel is that it is in the heart of the shopping area, plenty of restaurants around, close to the Barclays Centre... More

2 nights in Madrid and we stayed in that Hotel with, for sure, a very useful location to visit center of Madrid (very close to Placa Colon), but rooms and common part are a little bit overused in my opinion. If you have time to have a long breakfast, do it cause buffet is really rich, but if you need... More

My husband and I stayed at the Vincci Soma for a few days prior to our tour of Spain, Morocco and Portugal. I found the hotel to be clean and comfortable, the WiFi access was good, the restaurant and the bar were very good however the hotel was not centrally located, it was a 40minute walk from the start of... The hotel is decent, but the room was closer in size to a closet that to a room. I guess it was than 100 sq ft and the rate was an outrageous $260. It is the most expensive room per sq. ft. that i have ever been in. An I have been in hundreds of them. Location is fine, close... More

Nice location, easy access to subway, nice and trendy bar. Beds was as hard as stone, impossible to sleep well. Ongoing restauration with smell of paint and daytime noise. Nice bar, with trendy drinks.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
