Shown to our table and waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to come to our table so that we could order a glass of champagne. Then having chosen our first two courses I asked to see the wine list. The wine waiter forgot this and I was still waiting as our first course was served. They then told me that... More

Waited for a "special" room for hours. Got a bed too small for me. Was told I didn't make a "special" request for a bed that fits someone 6'3. Fine dining on the patio? Hardly. Worst service in your life!

Whilst the staff are welcoming and pleasant, there are other aspects of this hotel which are far less appealing. Firstly, the chef cannot cook eggs or steak - not something which you would expect in a 5 star hotel. My wife asked for soft boiled poached eggs and got ones as hard as bullets; and I asked for a steak... More

Spent 3 night in a deluxe room on the 3-rd floor-the rooms indeed are spacious comparing to other hotel rooms of similar star rating although a lot of useless space like 3 giant walk in wardrobe and at the same time a very narrow and aged and old bathroom with a tub designed for midgets or people who are less... This has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It is an oasis of peace in Madrid. the staff are so friendly and will do anything for you- at a price! But worth every penny! I am now a convert to sumptuous luxury!

FINE HOTEL WITH A FIVE STAR RATING. bSTAFF IS UT THIS IS BETTER BECAUSE THE WONDERFUL...FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, KIND ET AL. The hotel is located conveniently near the Prado and the Thyssien museums and across from a lovely park The rooms are elegant and spacious. The breakfast is a delicious though pricey buffet and the outdoor terraced restaurant is absolutely lovely.... More

I first visited the Ritz as a teenager traveling with my parents 40 years ago. I went back several times during the eighties and nineties and had not returned in over a decade. 15 years ago, The Ritz was as good as any hotel in the world. Arguably it was in the same league as its Paris cousin, and surpassed... More

The most beautiful room I've ever stayed in. Every luxury was thought of in the room. Heated bath towels, heated floor, bath salts, sitting area, desk to work from, toilet far from bed to allow the sleepers to sleep. Quiet room, comfortable bed and linens and invisible maid service. The lobby is as grand as the photos show but also... More

I stayed there for a couple of days last year. it is a beautiful traditional luxury hotel, the breakfast is really really good, and, the staff is very attentive. I expected the property to be more taken care of, but I suppose this is how old buildings age. the bathroom is very European like, even though it is luxurious.

My wife and I just returned home from visiting Spain. Our first hotel was the Ritz. Our room was a classic deluxe; small but excellent quality. The hotel recently had a remodel and you could tell. The common areas were very nice and comfortable. We found the breakfast to be excellent with the usual choices of top quality items like... More
