This is a top hotel. Everything is as you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The location is not bad with about a 7-8 min walk to Sol (the centre of the shopping area). It's about a 5 min walk to Plaza Santa Ana, and about a 5 min walk to Prado Museum and the adjacent Parque Buen Retiro.... more

I have traveled quite a bit, and stayed in many 5-star hotels. The Westin Palace has the top spot in my hotel experiences to date. We upgraded to a suite and were treated to a vast corner suite with 5 balconies overlooking the Neptune Fountain. The location near the Prado is fantastic. The staff were exquisitely polite and helpful. I... more

I have stayed in different in hotels in Madrid over the last years and have been a little disappointed with the Westin Palace. The location is great, so is the service and the glass dome in the restaurant but for me this is FAR from a 5* hotel. There is no pool, no outside space, the breakfast is just OK.... more

We stayed at the Westin for our nights and loved it. This hotel has everything you could want: great location, nice rooms with modern facilities, beautiful lobby, modern business center, and amazing breakfast. The check-in was rapid (we were able to check in early because they had availability) and the concierge was helpful. In addition, the Palace is a historical... more

I spent 6 nights at the Westin Palace in mid-late June 2009. It was a great experience. The hotel staff all speak English, and are extremely helpful. The hotel itself is truly lovely, but not stuffy or pretentious. The bed had to be the best I've ever had at a hotel - wow - so comfortable! The breakfast was included... more

We stayed at El Palacio for 3 nights in June. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast every day (breakfast was included). Food was very good. The main, public areas within the hotel were nice. However, the small room was dingy although the bathroom was nice, albeit a bit smaller than I am used to for a "5-star"... more

Spent one night in room 255 after having traveled throughout Spain. This was the best hotel of the trip. The room was large with a substantial sitting area. The bathroom has a large tub and seperate shower with two shower heads. On the top floor their is a large gym with top notch equipment and a helpful staff. We had... more

We had a great stay at the Westin Palace. TO be honest, we only stayed there because we got a great deal on HotWire (normally it would be out of our price range). We were really happy with everything. The room was nice and roomy (2 adults, 1 child and an infant). The staff was extremely helpful, 5 star!!! We... more

The hotel itself is quite nice, a large and luxurious old building in a good location. The staff are young, pleasant, friendly and helpful. The rooms are standard to any Westin/Sheraton I've been in, lovely marble bathrooms and standard furnishings. The beds are their heavenly bed, and they are very comfortable. There were some issues with our room and the... more

I just returned from a 2-night stay at the Westin Palace Madrid. This was my first trip to Madrid, and I booked my room over the Starwood website for a pre-paid visit (which included breakfast and a double-basin marble bathroom). This is exactly what I received. I took the metro from Madrid-Barajas airport in the early afternoon (EUR 2.00 one-way)... more
