Located a short walk from Plaza Major this hotel could not be better placed for seeing Madrid. Madrid is walkable, but the Metro is very easy and central Sol Metro stop is only 10 minute walk away. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a modern decorated room, kept very clean, all furnishings were new. A large sink was in... More

Stayed here in January 2015 and got off season rates. Hotel is charming, located on Cava Baja and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Rooms have balconies that look out into the street. Restaurant downstairs has a glass floor that looks down into what looks like ruins. Good breakfast selection for E10. The only downside was slow internet connection. Other... More

We stayed four adults in an only spacious-enough room, but a lovely, very comfortable, modern and functional one, on the top floor. The location is perfect for walking around each and every interesting must site in central awesome Madrid. Plenty of top & fun tapas bars (Tempranillo is a must) all along the street and good sangria in the hotel's... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in one of the beautiful attic rooms. The design is stunning, contrasting the XIII C wall in the cellar with the white, glass and chrome fittings in the bedrooms, arranged around a central patio with ancient wooden beams. The mattress (memory foam) was amazing, as was the in-the-room jacuzzi. Food: superb. Location: unmatchable. Querkyness:100%. We'll... More

The hotel has a great look - it's modern & has its own style. We stayed in a large room and it felt very luxurious. The bath was lovely and really deep - great after walking through the city! The bed was super comfy and we were able to sleep in peacefully. The wifi was a bit shaky - either... More

We arrived well before check-in time but that was no problem and we were even given an upgrade. An enormous, very comfortable bed and modern bathroom with powerful shower. Breakfast was included in the price and, if you wanted it, you could supplement the continental breakfast with a choice of hot dishes at no extra cost. The restaurant and bar... More

we stayed 4 nights and spent Christmas at this hotel. Thsi hotel has contemporary deisgn and stylish deco. location is the reason we choose this hotel as we liked the idea of havign a hotel lined up with small littles restaurants at the same street. Cava Baja no doubt offers the best small tapas bar in Madrid. wifi is also... More

Returning to one of our favorite hotel we were a little bit dissapointed because we found some lack of mantainace in our room. Among other things, bathroom mirror was broken and the trash can needs a repalcement because it was also broken. The staff as always excellent, specially Javier at the front desk who always is truly a plus to... More

One of the important reasons we chose this hotel is its proximity to tapas bars/restaurants. Whichever direction you go, there's a tapas bar nearby. Madrid is a lovely place. My friends and I visited Madrid last October 3; we took the fixed-rate taxi (30 Euros -- note: 6 luggages 3 passengers) to the hotel and the driver, though not english-speaking,... More

Stayed their for 3 nights over the weekend in September. Location is really good; right in the centre with many of the attractions within easy walking distance. It is on Cava Baja - one of the busiest tapas / bar streets - so expect lots of people around and the hotel bar / restaurant was always busy at night. It... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
