Stayed here for our first wedding anniversary in May. Madrid is a fabulous city and this hotel matches it. Great staff, fab rooms, comfy beds, giant walk-in shower and a great breakfast. Plus, we had a balcony overlooking Cava Baja - perfect! The only thing that lets the location down - in the middle of everything - is the inevitable... More

Stayed here on an anniversary trip for three nights in April, 2015. Great location; right on the trendy Cava Baja and a 5 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor. We had a very, very small room with a double bed on the third (top) floor. It was noisy during lunch and well into the evening since central courtyard of the... More

This is a nice, small hotel near Plaza Mayor and the famous Botin restaurant. But let me warn you, there's a restaurant and bar downstairs. So it gets SUPER noisy in the evening. Four of us shared one room, so the extra bed was close to the door (and we were on the 1st floor) so maybe that's why it... More

Wonderful small hotel, great food, fun neighborhood.we would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Madrid. Our room was right off the restaurant so if mouse is going to bother you ask for an upstairs room.

The hotel itself is visually stunning when you step inside. It has a lovely bar and restaurant in the lobby. The front desk staff warmly welcomed us with a complimentary drink and room upgrade. The rooms were spotless with high end sheets and bath products. We had a small balcony that overlooked Cava Baja. Overall, the hotel was oozing character... More

We loved it. The room was wonderful. full of creativity but also very comfortable. The restaurant was very trendy but good. But most important was the hotel's stuff. They were friendly and full of advices. we will definitely come back!

This hotel has everything going for it! A true gem. An outstanding location, warm staff who can't do enough for you, stylish rooms and great food in the restaurant. The only downside is unlike the sterile chain hotels elsewhere in the city this is an old building and at weekends can be noisy in the evenings. It's great for couples... More

A really warm welcome on arrival, lovely welcome drink & an upgrade from junior suites to the loft suites - very pleased! The hotel is located on busy cava Baja which at the weekend is a real party street full of wonderful small bars & tapas restaurants. This an however means that a quiet early night is not going to... Located a short walk from Plaza Major this hotel could not be better placed for seeing Madrid. Madrid is walkable, but the Metro is very easy and central Sol Metro stop is only 10 minute walk away. We stayed on the 2nd floor in a modern decorated room, kept very clean, all furnishings were new. A large sink was in... More

Stayed here in January 2015 and got off season rates. Hotel is charming, located on Cava Baja and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Rooms have balconies that look out into the street. Restaurant downstairs has a glass floor that looks down into what looks like ruins. Good breakfast selection for E10. The only downside was slow internet connection. Other... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
