A wonderful 5 day in this lovely hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and truly loved our stay. The hotel is quite grand, beautifully decorated and professionally staffed. Our room was massive, only equalled by the marble bathroom with the biggest shower I have ever seen.....heaven indeed. Breakfast outside on the elegant terrace was perfect, the staff just... More

Overall this hotel was great, stayed for only one night during a connection back home but everything in the hotel was excellent except the location of the power plugs which still seems to be an issue for hotels across the world in 2015... Walking distance is the great food court of the El-corte Ingles (not the one right next door,... More

I was invited to a wedding which included a room at the Villa Magna. I was quite excited at being given the opportunity to stay in a 5 star hotel in the centre of Madrid, and so started researching on the web. I was surprised to find that a hotel of this standard shows the same photographs on its website... More

Vill Magna was a great hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is very friendly. The hotel has many food options -- their own restaurant, a cafe, and a Chinese restaurant which is not affiliated with the hotel but is located right next to it. The hotel is also connected to a large department store (Corte Ingles) and... More

We had a jumior suite and the rrom was spacious and well furnished. There was no kettle and coffee/tea service but there was a coffee maker, no creamer though. There was no door to the bathroom making it difficult for 2 people in the rrom to use facilities. Breakfast was good but menu lacked vegetarian options. Staff are helpful and... More

Brilliant cocktail bar off the main entrance. A really extensive cocktail menu and the Singapore slings were amazing well made and presented by the bar man. Recommend a visit for any occasion. Snacks are available as well as the usual Spanish tapas which are served until late at night

Impeccable hotel by Calle Serrano. Plenty of shops nearby and el Corte Ingles is right behind it. The hotel was recently renovated in a very tasteful way and the service is top notch. Very friendly staff. Overall, I always try to stay there when I go to Madrid. They have some smoking rooms available but they were fully booked when... More

I stayed here twice in May once in their smallest "Magna" room and once in a Grand Deluxe Room. The latter had a Nespresso maker and more space but even the Magna Room was impressive - very well designed and equipped. Ceilings are a bit lower than I would like and the exterior of the hotel is far from beautiful... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
