This lovely art deco hotel in central Madrid, ticked all the boxes for us. Location was fabulous, we could walk to many attractions, but the restaurants just nearby, across the road were just marvellous. The room we had, at the back of the hotel, and on the 3rd floor, was spacious with a small enclosed balcony/sitting area. Whilst the view... More

We stayed at the Catalonia Gran Via hotel for 3 nights. No bad surprise at our arrival, we got a room at the 6th floor with a view on the Gran Via street, which was really great. Spacious, well decorated room, very clean, equipped bathroom with separate toilets, free wifi. We slept very well, it was pretty quiet. The hotel... More

Very well situated hotel in central Madrid. The room was clean but very dated and in need of a refurbishment. No tea/coffee making facilities available in the room. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options. You have a nice but rather small pool at the roof of the hotel overlooking the Grand via - very nice! Overall, this... More

This is a nice hotel and very well situated within Madrid. My room was clean but dated and in need of a refurbishment. No tea/coffee making facilities available in the room. There were some problems with breakfast i.e. out of date yogurts, having to ask for crockery and cutlery every time, having to put the bread through the toaster 8... More

My friend and I booked a discounted rate through a website - twin room for 400 euro for 4 nights. Great value but a pretty gloomy room. One window looking across a lightwell at another wall. No tea/coffee-making facilities but otherwise fine for our long weekend. Other friends had a room higher up overlooking Gran Via which was light and... More

This hotel was situated on a busy street which was within walking distance of the city centre. It is convenient for shopping and restaurants. Fairly small lobby and small bar at the entrance. Front desk staff friendly and efficient Room was cosy not too large. Breakfast is included, very good, dining area is compact.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The location of Catalonia Gaudi could not be better: Madrid's Gran Via at the intersection of Alcala Street, a few metres from the Plaza Cibeles and Puerta del Sol. All of Madrid's main attractions are in walking distance from the Museum golden triangle to the Congreso de los Diputados to the "tapas" bars, etc. The remains of the building date from the beginning of the century, although it opened as a hotel only a few years ago. ... more   less
