The hotel has an excellent location for tourists wanting to visit the museums which are within walking distance. All the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast had good variety and quality at a reasonable price.

85€ (without breakfast) is a good buy. My room was excellent (n°431) but I think they are not all as good to register me and my voucher. But for one night with appointments just round the corner and rapid access to the aiport by taxi it was just what I needed.

Good location and not a bad hotel. However, upon leaving something at the hotel they were unhelpful and refused to help as it was 'hotel policy'! An absolute disgrace and having paid good money to stay there, they made it pretty clear there is no customer service or post check out service either. Avoid these guys and find somewhere else,... This hotel is in a great location! Gran via is the main road in Madrid so a lot of sights are in walking distance I.e the palace etc We got the room with the terrace which I can imagine would be lovely in the heat of summer but we still enjoyed it at the end of February. There is a... More

The location of the hotel is fantastic. All main attractions are within walking distance and others are within easy reach by metro or taxi.Bar area was a bit quiet but plenty of alternatives nearby. Rooms are a little dated but the location makes up for everything.

Several bars and shopping areas are aroud the hotel also a walking distance for KM 0. Room was on the top floor, where I had to take the stairs from the last floor up every time... More

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in this hotel. We had the Premium room which was spacious enough and pretty new. Very comfortable and clean. There was a kettle for tea and coffee making in the room which is quite rare in hotels in Europe. The staffs were very friendly and very helpful with sufficient spoken English. Location is... More

I really loved the location of this hotel, it was very close to several metro stations and in a nice, safe area of the town. As several people mentioned, the hotel is a little bit old in terms of the furniture, I also found it took a long time for the room to warm up, and the heating was very... More

The hotel is centrally located and a 20 minute walk in any direction takes you everywhere. The airport bus stops 200 yards away at place de Ciebles and the tour bus stops opposite. We were on the 5th floor at the front and road noise did not bother us. Breakfast was hot and cold and should suit everyone. The reception... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
