This hotel is great! Great location close to major attractions, great service (Lucas on the night shift was excellent), beautifully appointed rooms and overall good quality; the only thing it will make this hotel even better would be nicer pilows and a spa area. Instead of having a gym it should have a sauna/ Turkish bath and a jacuzzi, it... More

Just arrived at this hotel. Made a reservation for 3 rooms, several months ago. It seems that when you book in advance, they give you the worst rooms. No view, no privacy, only a lateral window where you can be seen by all other guests when they walk in the corridor. I can choose to close the curtains and stay... More

Perfect location, plenty of bars and restaurants right outside the hotel and walking distance to many attractions. Staff were amazingly helpful with all our queries and making phone calls in Spanish for us, since our Spanish was very limited. Room was clean with a huge king size bed and plenty of towels in the bathroom. We had a 4th floor... More

Very Comfortable. Very Clean. Staff helpful when needed. Great location, near two subway stops and walkable to Prado and other museums plus Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Would stay there again if I get to Madrid.

An excellent location from the tourist's perspective, one can walk to most major attractions. Good emphasis on guest safety. Friendly and efficient staff at Reception. Room was clean and well equipped; climate control worked well. Two tv's in our room: good. Tea/coffee corner in room helps after sightseeing. In the room, sufficient noise insulation from the street helped. Breakfasts were... More

We arrived Friday afternoon and went to our room which very nice. However when turning on the air con there was an awful smell of drains. We told the reception staff and they changed our room to a junior suite. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was nice. The long bar shown on the website, is no longer... More

10 days and loved each one. Staff that is responsive, pleasant, each multi-lingual, and an attitude to make the guest experience memorable. By day 2 each referred to me by my last name at each and every greeting, a pleasant surprise. This property will make you smile each day. Great pillows, big flat screens, great air control. Madrid's best location... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
