We had four nights here and were very pleased with the accommodation. The room was clean and had daily service. The location is perfect. Right near a metro and close to lots of sights. Madrid is an easy to walk city and we were able to do it all from Hostal Art Madrid. We had a couple of breakfasts at... More

First time staying in a hostel - had more of a hotel feel as we had a private room for two nights Less than 2 mins away from Tirso de Molina metro station, with a couple of restaurants and a Lidl around the corner and less than 15 mins walk from Puerta del Sol - so the hostel is in... More

We stayed for four nights starting May 1st. They arranged an airport pick up for us & dropped us outside the hostal door at 9.30pm. First impressions, quiet & clean. Judy on reception the following morning was very helpful, & spoke good English. The breakfast arrangements were fine with two local "cafes" & good value for money. The Patio Café... More

The Hostal is in a great location very close to everything. The place is cozy, clean and the staff is very friendly and good English speaking. Good value for money. Sound isolation is not the best (it is not a 5* hotel), nevertheless for us it was not a problem. Free wifi was good. We would choose this place again.

Stayed for 5 nights without breakfast. The greatest advantage of this place is that it is within reasonable walking distance to both significant directions - to the city centre with the Royal Palace as well as to the Atocha station with famous galleries nearby. Right round the corner there are Lidl and few restaurants. In the lobby there were useful... More

Location is great, just a few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol! The building has a tiny elevator that can fit max. 2 persons with luggage. The hotel is clean, check-in a breeze, room is nice, has a balcony, tv, great wifi, bathroom a little small, but has all the amenities you need. No common area to mingle with other... More

To suggest this is a hostel would tend to conjour up images of backpackers and 10 to a room. This really is a brilliant 'Hotel'. Whilst its external appearance of a is far from hotel like, once you're in it really is fantastic. The staff are more than happy and helpful 24hrs. The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and with... More

The only reason it's not perfection is because it's really a hotel not a hostel - there's no common area for guest to mingle & there's no kitchen facilities to use. Outside of those things this place has everything - location, cleanliness, comfort, friendliness of staff & wifi are all fantastic & the shower was easily the best we've used... More

The hotel was conveniently located in central Madrid. The room was nice, clean and pleasant, with balcony facing a shopping street (it was not noisy though). The lady staff was very friendly. The toilet was small, but not too bad.

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
