Location is very good, near to Tirso de Molina subway, with supermarkets and stores near. The sheets and bathroom were clean, the room had air conditioned, which is a must for hot Madrid, and there was a TV on the wall. And this is about all of the positive points I could find. On the other side, the negative ones...... More

Just dirty...the kitchen cabinets are all sticky, the silverware and plates weren't clean. There were 2 drinking glasses, yet the apartment is for 6 people. 3 out of 9 lights weren't working (but did get fixed). You wouldn't want 6 people to stay here unless it was a cost driven decision. Walls are pretty thin...there is no doubt when others... More

My wife, son and I stayed here from Friday 7th June to Tuesday 11th. The location was good . The apartment was clean, but there was no kettle or Microwave . When we emailed to ask about towels etc the reply was very vague. The hot water seemed very unpredictable , if 2 of us had early morning showers then that was... More

I am disgusted with the level of customer service I received during my stay. The purpose of my visit was to run the Madrid marathon and visit the sights of Madrid with my mother. This apartment did not make for a pleasant trip with either goals in mind. I recently stayed at a Tirso de Molina apartment. I was given... More

Staying in Lavapies

Neighborhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighborhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighborhood.
