Not a great experience at all for the price paid. Good points: 1. Good location - close to bars and restaurants 2. Nice roof top pool and bar Bad points: 1. Every day the housekeeping walked into our room with no prior knock and with the do not disturb sign on the handle????? 2. Had to move on first night... More

The hotel is centrally located to ley parts of Madrid, including the restaurants. The hotel is comfortable, but noise from people outside the building, police sirens and traffic can ake for a sleeples night. The noise continues until the early hours of the morning. Breakfast is unamazing for the price paid. The restaurants immediately around the hotel are generally of... More

We had a room on the fourth floor which was well soundproofed, with good air-condition and nice spacious bathroom. The room itself is ok size and bed was comfy. The bad wifi connection was tiring and we mentioned it but it didn't get any better. It is also strange that the supply of TV channels consisted only of Hispanic Channels.... More

Overall, our first week-long stay in Madrid was wonderful and the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect for shops, restaurants and metro. One of the few hotels with a roof-top pool and bar. We would definitely consider staying there again but will never use their recommended taxi driver that waits outside of the hotel -... More

The rooms are clean and has a great size for a city hotel. Location is perfect in the center of madrid. Breakfastbuffet includes everything and makes a great start of the day. The pool on the rooftop is really nice, but space in the poolarea is limited, but not too crowded. Highly recommendable hotel!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for the first week in August and we absolutely loved it. The Room: Smart Special Modern and well decorated with excellent aircon and a large double bed. We had an interior room so the room didn't get much natural light but that didn't bother us. The rooftop pool and bar: During the day this... More

I think some of the negative reviews of this hotel are unfair. If I list the facts: - extremely central - roof top bar and pool - Friendly staff - the room I was in was a very good size and newly refurbished - very clean - free wifi - supermarket across the road All of this comes at less... More

Comfortable beds and great rooftop pool (especially on a hot day). Paper thin walls so you could hear all the noise from outside. We were given a late check out which was great but cleaning staff kept coming into our room without knocking... So they must have not known about the arrangment. Everthing was clean and there was free wifi.... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
