This was the 2nd time staying at this hotel. 1st time we booked a superior room which had all that it´s expected (nice decor, great bed, luxury bathroom, etc.). 2nd time around we booked an economy room and for 120 euros the night it was just not good value for money: The bed was small and bad and the bathroom... We stayed here for 5 nights with our friends. Rooms were small but clean. Hotel staff did their best to meet out requirements. Hotel has also nice, small rooftop terrace wirh a bar with a nice view. The rooftop terrace is open from 11 a.m. unless there is a wedding or other party, then they close this at 6 p.m.... More

This is no way 4* hotel. It's dirty and the room was terible small. The stuff are very unfrendly and i defenetly would not recoment this hotel. The only good thing is that this hotel is in the center of the city and all restorans, bars and shops are near. I defenitly would not recomend this hotel. Very disapointed:(

I totally agree with Lambo girl's review - location is really convenient and the hotel is clean. However, compared to another hotel we had stayed at for a similar price on the same street, this was not good value and I will not be returning. We booked this because it was branded under the Be Live chain, but on our... More

I have been brought up to be a polite person, to see the good in everything so I am going to start with one of only two positives I can find about this hotel. It has a pool with Jorge and the towel girl who are absolutely wonderful. However, even this comes with a caveat...unless you are at the pool... More

Location fantastic, near gran via shops and many bars and restaurants, on check in was upgraded to standard room and was very pleased with the newly refurbished stylish room. Very comfortable and good night sleep. Staff efficient and friendly. Parking next door so convenient.

Got a last minute booking from the internet at a very cheap, price. Arrived with a little trepidation thinking there must be a compromise at the cheap price we got........ No need for fear.......brilliant location in the centre of Madrid right next to bars / restaurants and shops. The room was modern and clean. The hotel has a rooftop bar /... More

we were very disappointed with our hotel room. My friend and I booked a deal which involved a double bedroom. we upgraded it to a room with 2 single beds but we might as well not have bothered as the room was tiny and the beds were pushed together. We were expecting a nice "unique" room but it was standard,... More

This hotel is very nice, central, calm, with very good rooms. The doors shutting can make lots of noise, but it's a guest issue, and not an hotel issue (please shut the doors nicely). The hotel scene is good, with an restaurant on the lobby (unfortunately, I didn't eat there) and an AMAZING swimming pool at the top, with AMAZING... More

Great location next to Gran Via yet tucked slightly away. Refreshing bi-level pool deck with great bar and very talented bar tenders! An oasis in the busy and hot city (in the summer). Basic amenities in the hotel, which we didn't really use. Room was average size with comfortable double bed and had all the basic amenities; bathroom had a... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
