Clean hotel and great price. Location is perfect to sight see during the day, shop, and I was able to go out for drinks at night. Close to everything, didn't take the metro! I forgot my cell upon leaving and room service returned it :)

This is a very nice hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms look very clean and brightly coloured. The shower is very small but great! The rooms are very noisy. Location is perfect. We arrived a day too late but after a phone call this was no problem at all. This hotel does not serve breakfast.

Great little place to stay, right in the centre of town close to metros, shisha bars, touristy stuff, markets, you name it. Had a fantastic time whilst there. The service was excellent, esp, the guy at the desk, Javier was absolutely brilliant, and took care of every need in a quick and diligent manner. The rooms are small, but nicely... More

Great hotel, I really liked the location and the room's design. Really special hotel. Very kind staff. Satisfied breakfast. There is a free minibar with water and Pepsi cola which you can take freely even when you go for a walk outside.

As soon as we got there we were wonderfully received. Then we went to the bedroom and it was a good surprise. Although it was not very big, it was wonderfully decorated, and very cozy. We loved it. The localization is super! Highly recommended!

The staff was verí friendly and helpful. They offered us to change our room for a double-bed one after the first night. If we had any problem with our room they always helped us. There is a great location of this hotel. The rooms are a little bit small, but enough for a comfortable sleeping. Absolutely recommended!!

The JC is very easy to find from the Opera metro station and is a cute little hotel. The price and location were perfect for what we needed....a couple of nights in Madrid as a base for sightseeing. Would recommend this hotel for a cheap friendly stay!

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
