Hostal is about 100-200 meters from the Gran Via metro station. Very easy access from the airport. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. 24 hour reception. You can walk most of the highlight points of madrid. At Gran Via there is a big McDonald's that open 24 hour. It is a safe place. There is many choice for breakfast around. The staff... More

Everything was great! Personal very kind, even if they couldn't speak english (like most of the spaniah people). They could understand it but they answered me in spanish. Everything very clean and they changed towels and beds everyday. Great position, it's in the very centre of Madrid and you could arrive to the biggest street with a lesa than five... More

I stayed there for 1 night in june it was so hot and there were No a/c. Wifi very slow, staff spwaks absolutely no English. Location is good though. I had to wait for a while at the hostal door to have the reception open the door for me when I came back late at night

Excellent location - we were able to walk to most of Madrid's sights from this hostal. Very friendly, very clean, family run hotel, 24 hr reception, coffee and drinks machine at reasonable prices. We asked and received a quiet room away from the main street. Wifi free of charge available in the room. Plenty of places to eat cheap breakfasts... More

Nothing fancy. Room is small and rather monk like. But clean and comfortable. Air conditioned, flat screen TV and free WIFI. Small but clean bathroom with shower. Central location. A great value for the price

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in June. A friend recommended this hotel to us and the basis that it is small and simple but very clean. This is exactly what we found. It was small but has a safe and small closet to put things. It had a small desk and bed. It was extremely clean,... More

You wont find much better places if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place in central Madrid. With Puerta del Sol 5 minutes away you wont need any kind of transport to be just in the Madrids´ center with no need to pay too much for these way too expensive hotels around there. As for the place itself... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
