I was in Madrid with my wife and 3 kids (11-15y). Location was excellent and rooms ok. Considering the price, the hotel was excellent. I arrived 22:00, called for reception and in 5 minutes got the keys. Six rooms is more for independent travellers not needing help or service from hotel personnel. Will come back.

RUDE STAFF The worst part of our stay were the rude staff. I booked via booking.com but made specific requirements by phone which were never recorded and consequently didn't happen. I was then accused of lying, saying I'd never made any such phone call, and in total was hung up on three times when I asked for an alternative solution.... More

I stayed here with my sister and my four month old son, it was great having our own living area and kitchen so we could eat breakfast in and heat bottles up etc. The price was great value for money and the location only 5 mins walk from Puerta de Sol and 10 mins to Grand Via. The only thing... More

I stayed there with my two daughters and mother, thinking we would be much more comfortable in an apartment, and I was sort of right...The apartment was not bad, had modern furniture and a good size living area, the bedrooms were tiny, and although the bathroom was new, there were no towel hangers and the shower did not work well.... Generally the flat is really nice but it looks like it is new and then you find out a hundred broken things..chairs, bathroom sink and the table! The bathroom anyway was nice, with a very big shower and hairdryer. The location is amazing but I have to admit we could have chosen a better arrangement.. The cleaning wasn't so good... More

We stayed in the Gongora apartment on Calle de Atocha, near to Anton Martin metro station, which was very convenient for Plaza Major, Plaza Santa Ana and Puerto del Sol. The apartment itself was spacious, well equipped with a large leather sofa, induction hob, coffee maker and juicer. The shower and basin was more in suite than en suite, but... More

As part of our closing school seminar in Madrid, we rented Six Rooms at Calle de Relatores, 3 and were warmly welcomed by Nacho. He spoke decent English and was extremely friendly and willing to help us in any way possible. The location is probably the best in all of Madrid - walking distance to Plaza de Jacinto Benevente, Puerta... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
