The hostal is perfect for a short stay. It's very close to the subway station Gran Via and to touristic places near Gran Via. There are also a couple of supermarkets really near the hostal. The area is pretty safe too. The single room has a perfect size, the bed & bathroom are ok and the rooms are alwas clean.... More

Very nice hotel close to the central street Gran Via, Puerta del Sol. Easy to walk to the Royal Palace and to main Madrid's sightseeing. Easy to get there from the airport by bus that stops at Plaza Sibeles. Thanks to the kindness of José and his warm welcome we had a wonderful stay in "Zamora". The rooms size, beds are... More

This is a family room for four with four twin beds. Parking is a challenge... about 10 mins away walking. We arrived tired and sweaty from the walk with our stuff. Parking with hostel stamp about €20 per night. The area is pretty dank and representing a lot of sexuality's sexual confusion... a significant range. Not a family environment at... More

I was expecting average accommodations in this location. I was just staying one night waiting on a flight back to the States. However, the room was spacious and clean (did I say spacious?). What really blew me away was the view of the square below. It was great to watch people and nightlife (and this being Madrid, life in the... More

I booked two rooms for two nights after a Camino walk, on arrival we were all impressed by the friendly welcome even though our train was delayed and it was close to midnight. Both of the rooms were very clean with good beds and clean small bathrooms, the shower was very strong and hot. there was plenty of room for... More

As a budget travelers, I gave thumbs up for it's locations. It's within 5 minutes walk to the Gran Via metro, near to plenty of restaurants and access to everywhere. We have the room with the view on the Plaza. The room is clean and comfortable with free Wi-Fi (the signal is strong!). Bathroom has necessary toiletries. Thanks to receptionist,... More

Modest price and modest facilities but clean, welcoming and ideally placed in Madrid. We spent a night there with my wife, it's quiet and fresh with the AC. And if you can, ask for a room with view on the Plaza, it looks nice in the morning. There's a TV in the room and free Wi-Fi

My family and I went to Paris, Belgium, Barcelona & Madrid, i gotta say tho we never slept so comfortably like we did at this hostal. Im not sure what it was maybe the homey feel to it but I highly recommend it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It was my first time at a hostal and there... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
