This was a great hostel, I stayed for 7 nights and found it to be very clean, comfortable and a good place to socialize with fellow travelers or just to relax. It also provides good value for money as It is in a great location, close to sights such Sol, Plaza mayor and the palace as well as retiro park.... More

We were checked in by a friendly guy, was very helpful. We put our bag in a room that could only be opened by the staff and then hung out in the community room. I asked him for help finding a landmark (Bear Statue in Plaza del Sol) and he was super helpful. only complaints: -Small lockers (not that big... More

This is genuinely one of the best hostels I've stayed in. The staff were so so friendly and call you by your first name - something many hostels don't have time for. The activities this hostel had were awesome from the walking tours to the pub crawl. Also, if you want to meet people then this is the place for... More

This hostel is one of the best I've been visited! Personal is so nice, they fulfill all your wishes. They have mainly program as walking tour or pub crawl for example. I am pretty sure you will meet here new friends from different countries. If you are still thinking which hostel you have to choose, dont wait and book this... More

We rented a 4 bed private room. It was fairly clean. The staff and people there were fantastic. Fantastic location. Everything very walkable. Would totally recommend it. There is a paella night that was delicious and only 2€. They provide coffee and churos also.

If the only thing you care about is location, then you will like this hostel. Everything else leaves much to be desired. The rooms/bathrooms were SUPER tiny and the breasfast/coffee was gross. Also, the bed did not even have a fitted sheet on it, so it kept coming off the mattress and our room was the only (or one of... More

Dear Guest, Although you have all the right to criticize our establishment and we even encourage our guests to do so in order to improve our services and their stay, I am afraid this time I will have to disagree with your comment simply because it is a lie. Nobody insulted you; on the contrary, you insulted the manager and... More

After reading all the really positive reviews, I was so excited to stay at this hostel. And overall, I had a brilliant time in Madrid, but that was predominantly due to the people I met. My welcome was average- was given the key, without explanation of where my room was or where toilets were etc and I found some of... More

I never expect too much when staying in a hostel but I couldn't have asked for more from this one. Perfect location, clean, safe, quiet at night, lovely staff, good social area and kitchen and really well priced. I was here with a friend but would recommend to anyone travelling alone. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hostel for 5 nights and it was one of the best hostels I have stayed in! The staff are really cool and have lots of good advice for pretty much anything you need. There is just generally a fun vibe about the place and everyone is chilling and getting to know each other in the lounge... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
