Clean, modern minimal hotel that really has everything you need. Staff are friendly and informative and a basic breakfast that's pretty standard of most small European hotels is available. Room is clean but it's a bit odd that the bathroom has transparent walls. Luckily im a solo traveller so didn't phase me too much. Had no problems with the noise... More

Basic hotel but very nicely decorated. Lovely white bath sheets and towels, bed comfortable, everything you could wish for when staying away from home. Great shower and only 3 rooms on each of the 5 floors - there is a lift. Free coffee and selection of teas available in the breakfast area all day and night. The staff were really... More

Mayerling is right in the middle of the old part of Madrid. A 15 min walk west takes you to the Palace and a 15 min walk east takes you to the Prado and El Retiro park. Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are only 5 minutes. A 2 minute walk from the Tirso de Molina metro station. The staff... More

This is a friendly hotel with simple rooms (well ours was anyway!) and a foyer diy coffee bar where the fresh buffet breakfast is served. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and able to sort out any queries that we had. We were in a fourth floor room (402) that had a great view of the glorious street... More

I stayed at the Mayerling for 2 nights with my partner. We'd just gotten off a long flight from Boston and were ready to rest before wandering into the city. I really liked staying here for 5 reasons: - CLEAN - I'd say cleanliness is one of the most important elements of an overnight stay - SAFE is another one.... More

Like others have said, this hotel is basic, but clean and modern. The room was sparsely furnished, but after all we were here for the location, not to sit in the room. The shower is very nice! The complimentary tea and coffee at all hours was great. The breakfast was basic, not fancy, but had all the essential elements of... More

I liked rooms and their modern design, and fact hotel is small and very private somehow. Breakfast is cheap and there isn't a big choice, but the food's quality is very good. I recommend you pay for it as madrid is expensive and here you can eat as much as you wish. Everybody from the stuff was very kind and... More

The name, "chic & basic" sums it all. You get a very simple room with the basic stuff you need for your stay. Not fancy, not luxurious, but very comfortable. It is a great choice if you are staying for a few days and want to visit the city by foot (though it is very close to a subway station).... More

We had an overnight stay at the hotel. I chose this hotel for the following reasons: 1. very close to Tirso de Molina Metro station 2. very close to Plaza Mayor 3. reasonably price hotel with breakfast and free drinks all throughout the day 4. very good 'rain' shower 5. comfortable bed 6. air condition that works 7. very helpful...
