I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with a friend for a city break. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Madrid, only a few mins walk from puerto del sol square. It's walking distance to all the main tourist attractions. We only used the metro to get to and from the airport otherwise walked everywhere.... More

A perfect hotel for my business trips to Madrid (one-two nights). The room has everything you need. Modern and comfortable. Really close to the city center and metro stops. Breakfast is good, self-service and included in the price. Excellent price. All staff very friendly. I always recommend it to my work colleagues and friends.

We went there for a short period of time, just three nights, but we had a very good days there. The room was very confortable and clean. We spent most of the time outside walking around the city so we were tired and going straight to bed. Also was amazing to have water, tea and coffee for free at the... More

My partner and I had been looking for some time and in increasing panic for somewhere to stay in central Madrid on a flashpacker budget. This place exceeded our expectations. Location: a 15 minute walk from the golden art triangle. And the best tapas places. Minutes from two metro stops. Perfect. Room: good-sized room, especially for weary travellers! Bed was... More

Clean, modern minimal hotel that really has everything you need. Staff are friendly and informative and a basic breakfast that's pretty standard of most small European hotels is available. Room is clean but it's a bit odd that the bathroom has transparent walls. Luckily im a solo traveller so didn't phase me too much. Had no problems with the noise... More

Basic hotel but very nicely decorated. Lovely white bath sheets and towels, bed comfortable, everything you could wish for when staying away from home. Great shower and only 3 rooms on each of the 5 floors - there is a lift. Free coffee and selection of teas available in the breakfast area all day and night. The staff were really... More

Mayerling is right in the middle of the old part of Madrid. A 15 min walk west takes you to the Palace and a 15 min walk east takes you to the Prado and El Retiro park. Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are only 5 minutes. A 2 minute walk from the Tirso de Molina metro station. The staff... More

This is a friendly hotel with simple rooms (well ours was anyway!) and a foyer diy coffee bar where the fresh buffet breakfast is served. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and able to sort out any queries that we had. We were in a fourth floor room (402) that had a great view of the glorious street... More

I stayed at the Mayerling for 2 nights with my partner. We'd just gotten off a long flight from Boston and were ready to rest before wandering into the city. I really liked staying here for 5 reasons: - CLEAN - I'd say cleanliness is one of the most important elements of an overnight stay - SAFE is another one.... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
