Very best location, extremely good value for your money...Museo Reina Sofía is literally around the corner... A lot of different resturants on this quiet street... McDonalds and KFC and Burger King... Museo del Prado and Retiro Park are 10 minute walking distance... and the most convinient of all is that Atocha station is 5 min walk which you can use... More

We were delighted to find this hostel so close to Atocha Station. Our room was modern and very efficiently organised, but we were most impressed by the helpful staff and the 24 hour service as we were travelling out very early in the morning, and this was made very easy for us. Excellent service.

We slept in a double room with private bathroom in May 2015, the staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English. The location is perfect, 3 minutes from the Main Train Station Atocha and we didn't have to use metro as it's close to the main attractions in Madrid. A little bit noisy, because of the thin door and very... More

Location near Atocha station easy to go from Madrid airport by express bus just 5Euro. Have computer to use. Wifi very good. All staff very helpful when you want there to suggest you to travel around hotel by walk in 5-10 minutes.

The only pros I can think of were the location (right next to Atocha, and very convenient for catching a train) and the friendly woman who worked the front desk when I checked in. Other than that, my experience was negative. This place is so incredibly noisy, and I am NOT sensitive to noise. Living in a big city myself,... More

Hotel Buelta was in a great position for sightseeing in Madrid. The staff spoke English, were very friendly and were very helpful. The rooms were clean and roomy. We would be happy to return to this hotel in the future.

We have been staying just for a couple of hours stay to basically shower after the Marathon and it was a great discovery. Should have booked it for longer. Very clean decent sized rooms and all staff was very helpful and really friendly, all basic amenities available (except hairdryer). Great location just across from Atocha station with metro stop at... More

Friendly welcome. Receptionists spoke good English. I stayed in one of the refurbished rooms which was very comfortable. Small but just right for one or two nights. Great location just over the road from Atocha mainline rail station and close to major museums and places of interest.

Very good budget Hotel located in a small square next to the Rena Sofia Art Gallery and plenty of budget restaurants (no breakfast). Within walking distance of just about everything except the Bullring Clean, tidy - no fuss. Better than 2 star.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighborhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
