Good location, both to airport and downtown. Asking for a quiet room, we ended up in a fairly dark room with the only windows and light source from a covered internal patio. Breakfast was good, but we would not stay there again

Being familiar with the city it is convenient for a working visit, being a runner is close enough to Parque del Retiro for a morning or afternoon jogging, and nightlife is close by as well as Serrano street. You can move anywhere from there, quiet street with nice and discrete staff, you can get in your room fast. Breakfast included... More

Special small hotel. Great room, location and staff. Have stayed here many times when in Madrid and we love it. Close to Castellana Ave for going to museums, and shopping Walking distance to Serrano for all the great boutiques and restaurants. Many bars in the area for breakfast, tapas and dinners as you need.

Hesperia Emperatriz is very well located, near the Castellana and Salamca business and shopping areas. The rooms are not so comfortable, neither the dinning area. The price is reasonable and the staff is good.

If you are going to Madrid for business around the hotel, I would recommend checking this one out. The price is within reason and it is not too far from a metro stop or "Nuevos Ministerios" to connect with the train to the airport. I have been twice for a couple of days each time, and I will probably stay... More

The Hotel is located a few meters away from Paseo de la Castellana and few blocks from the closest metro station and from the famous Instituto Empresa (IE). Rooms are bigger than the usual (for Europe standards): spacious, closet is medium sized but most importantly the bathroom is big enough. It has an elevator (small though). Hotel offers breakfast which... More

Thank you very much for your time and your opinion. For me the most important thing written is that we are above for Europe standards. Just to clarify we have the Ruben Dario station (Underground) only just 300 metres, and with three stations more you are in Gran Via Street authentic. We hope to see you again in our hotel. More

First, thank you for your feedback. At most responsible for the hotel I apologize for poor impression. After your comments, at the reception they have worked to have much knowledge of the type of food that speaks. How to know Hallal food restaurants. Again my apologies for what happened. More

The Salamanca area, where this hotel is located, is a very exclusive and wonderful area, but a little far from the places where a tourist wants to go. In that respect Atocha is better. Bus connections are good and taxis quite reasonably priced. I was unlucky to get a rather cramped room, but my friends' rooms were much larger. The... More

Spending for the first time 4 nights in this lovely hotel - it has been lovely! Very friendly and helpful reception, very good breakfast and very comfortable room with a lovely view! All in all for a 4 stars-hotel more then okay! Will go there again! Little message to those who are responsible: Keep things as they are and always... More

This hotel didn't work for me at all. The 2 things I need foremost are proper sleep and a clean room. We travelled as a couple and settled for 2 single beds (that's all they had when we checked in for 4 nights). My bed would move several feet as soon as I lay to rest. That and ONE pillow... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
