Spending for the first time 4 nights in this lovely hotel - it has been lovely! Very friendly and helpful reception, very good breakfast and very comfortable room with a lovely view! All in all for a 4 stars-hotel more then okay! Will go there again! Little message to those who are responsible: Keep things as they are and always... More

This hotel didn't work for me at all. The 2 things I need foremost are proper sleep and a clean room. We travelled as a couple and settled for 2 single beds (that's all they had when we checked in for 4 nights). My bed would move several feet as soon as I lay to rest. That and ONE pillow... More

The hotel is centrally located and I could walk to all of my meetings but the hotel itself is basic and disappointing. The furnishings are dated and the bed, bedding and pillows caused insomnia. Don't take a street facing room. It is too noisy! Rather face a nondescript courtyard and enjoy the peace

I am not sure what the stay will be like but if it is anywhere near as frustrating as the booking process, I doubt I will even get there. Who doesn't allow for cancellation? Who doesn't notify you during the booking process about the no cancellation policy? Who doesn't answer their phone or respond to e-mails to solve these situations?... More

This place grows on you. While it is not a luxury hotel, the people are friendly, the location amidst the embassy neighborhood, proximity to shopping an dining, and easy access to the entirely reasonable Madrid metropolitan taxis makes this a fine place to settle in for a visit to Madrid. The room rates make it easier to spend money on... More

I went to Madrid for a business trip, and stayed for a couple of days at Hesperia. When I first walked in I was negatively surprised by the reception area, considering the prices and the imposing facade of the building, the reception looked quite outdated and honestly makes a really bad first impression. Service was excellent, starting with the reception... More

I'm not sure if the hotel has gotten worse under NH Hotels' management however, I can't recall my experience during previous stays to be the same. Aside from a friendly receptionist and room service waiter, be prepared for a lack of service detail and quality. A room service call can take you a few dials but best dial reception. If... More

Excellently located, with a metro station just four minutes walk, several bus stops across the street and at least two taxis always parked and waiting outside. Service was really good, all receptionists went the extra mile, accommodating every single request of mine, and I had several. Rooms and bathrooms do look a tad dated and could do with a bit... More

We’ve often stayed at the Emperatriz: it’s a pleasant, affordable hotel in a central location. This time, we took the receptionist’s offer of an upgrade to a suite, and were very pleased that we did: 830 has an entrance hall, a large, light sitting room opening on to a sizable balcony, well-lit bedroom with huge, comfortable bed, and bathroom. As... More
