Overall a fun and funky hotel that is trying to be different. The rooms are all themed after actors (I slept in the Charlie Chaplin room) and the decor is well done. That was about the only thing I liked about the hotel; rooms were small, internet was slow (forget doing any work at the hotel) and there is 1... More

This is a safe if you are going to stay in Madrid and you will visit the city centre. Next to 3 metro stations, Serrano street is opposite the hotel and you can walk distance to some other main streets in Madrid. Surrounded by good restaurants, cafés and bars. You can get good offers through internet and stay and have breakfast... More

We stayed here for 5 nights - the rooms are typical European small but clean. Comfortable beds. No coffee maker in the room and no hair conditioner. In the Salamanca neighborhood, but a quick subway ride to any of the main squares, and completely walkable distance to the city center if the weather permits. Breakfast is included and is decent.... we stayed in this hotel for a weekend, our room was very small but comfortable, perfect for a short stay in Madrid. The hotel is very well decorated and is different from everything I ever stayed in, the owner was definitely very creative in the hotel`s decoration. Breakfast and wifi were good and the staff friendly, we stayed at the... More

As EVERYONE else has mentioned, this is a cinema-themed hotel. It is located on a bust street in a more residential part of town north of downtown. Our room faced the back, so it was quiet and peaceful. The rooms are crisp and clean, albeit a tad on the small side. Free breakfast leaves you full and it's adequate, but... More

If you like films, you'll love the Dormirdcine Hotel. It's really comfortable too and the buffet breakfast has a nice wide range. I was in the James Bond room with a great feature wall above the headboard. Very modern. No idea if it is a good location for restaurants or shopping - sorry!

I chose this hotel due to its location on a stop over on my way home from a dancing and diving holidays. What a jewel! Elegant and stylish rooms, very friendly and helpful reception. It felt like being in a cinema. There is no heating in the room or bathroom, so it was a bit chilly to take a shower.... More

A neat, modern hotel with a film-theme; you can sleep e.g. in a Kill Bill or a Marlene Dietrich -room, with decor fitted with the film or film star suited to the theme. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. The breakfast is good, and so is the lunch: a three-course lunch menu is very good for the price.

This is a well situated hotel- the bus stop to get into the city is located a few yards away, is cheap and run frequently. The hotel us clean and well maintained with a somewhat quirky decor ! This Hotel in the extremely nice Barrio Salamanca is very peculiar. Each room has a theme linked to the movie world. Mary Poppins, James Dean, Marylin are just some of the rooms you can be staying at. Rooms are not big but very clean and adequately accessorized. The price, providing you book in advance, is very good compared to other... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
