The place is clean and have wifi. But its only a place to sleep for short stay. The bath and toilet are outside the room, which means you have to share with other guest. Its very central, and the nearest metro is Tirso de Molina, but also SOL is near..

The stuff is very friendly and the Hostel is located in a very central area ( near the metro SOL). The rooms were clean and so where the common area and the bathroom. The price is more than fair and it is perfect for those who doesn't want to spend a lot and still be in a central area.

However, there's only two showers. The rooms are really really small. If your looking for something cheap and jut want a place to stay this is the way to go. If you're looking for something more, look somewhere else.

Hostal Pacios is a really pleasant surprise in downtown Madrid. It is right on Atocha Street, a few steps away from Plaza de Santa Ana, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and other major sights in Madrid. It is also conveniently located next to a subway station - Anton Martin Station. The hostel itself is very cozy and clean and the... More

Great location- next to Plaza Santa Ana, 2 minutes to Plaza Mayor and Sol, next to Atocha train station. Room was clean but small. Bathroom okay, everything else ok, nothing special. But location is worth every penny ;) given the prize, it's very cheap and reasonable price. I'd go there again.

Given the location (right next to Plaza de Santa Ana, less than 5 mins to Plaza Mayor and Sol) the nightly rate is an absolute bargain. Room was clean and had plenty of space. Bathrooms separate but were all clean too. Will definitely stay here again

The owner doesn't speak any English. Be prepared to have many misunderstandings. He is not nice, so you can't ask him places to go or anything. The rooms are very clean and simple. Just a bed. Bathrooms down the hall, but they are empty most of the time and you never hear anyone using them. They are clean. The price... More

needed somewhere cheap to stay beforoe finding long term accomadation. room was very small, could hardly move in it. the bed took up 90percent of the floorspace, the other 10% filled by a broken sink and a table. was very dank, sweaty experience. just sleep here if necessary. staff neither pleasant nor rude, just indifferent. could be doing with a... The hotel is situated in the city center of Madrid, quite close to the main train station Atocha and the metro station Anton Martin. The hotel itself is on 2nd and 3rd floor, and has a tiny elevator for max 2 people. The rooms are basic: beds, a sink, a mirror, shelves and a rubbish bin. The rubbish were taken... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
