We booked this hotel for the last 2 days of August 2015. The rooms were discounted, The hotel boasts a 2 Michelin Star restaurant. The menu of the restaurant is displayed in front of the lifts in the main foyer. When we tried to book the restaurant we were told it was closed at this time of the year! Having... More

I love the hotel's look and location. The service is friendly, prompt and professional. However the worst part is the quality of sleep. To me, it is the most important part of the stay in any hotel. The Hotel Unico's mattresses are so hard, I could even feel the coils. The pillows are large and hard. I woke up with... More

A small and very personalized hotel in the hi end Serrano Madrid area, fantastic location and excelent service. We also enjoyed the possibility of having a hotel driver at an extra charge either to pick you up or to take to the airport or anywhere you want to go.

Hotel Unico was a very nice hotel, clean rooms, efficient and friendly staff. The staff was very helpful in helping us navigate Madrid. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had been upgraded before we even arrived. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to others.

We were warmly greeted to this upmarket, glamorous hotel in a leafy street. Really friendly staff, comfortable room with good amenities. Delicious breakfasts, occasionally the service was patchy, but we really enjoyed the fresh fruit, yoghurt and scrambled eggs. We especially liked the little rolls with delicious fillings that were also available during the day along with fresh apple juice... More

We had a short break at this hotel. The service was good, magnificent array of choices at breakfast which we enjoyed in the sunshine. Gym equipment was good. The modern room was well equipped and thoughtful touches of water and chocolate each day were a nice treat.

Great Boutique hotel in the middle of a high end shopping district in Madrid (Barrio de Salamanca). Great restaurant (one of the top in Madrid) for a gastronomic experience. Also great restaurants in the area. Excellent service and a nice lounge area.

I am not sure if I should start with the amazing service, or the perfect location, or the stunning garden, which feels like an oasis. Perhaps I should simply say that this has been the best and most memorable stay I have ever experienced in Madrid. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel at home. But I... More

Beautiful small hotel steps away from wonderful shopping area. Ramon Freixa restaurant in hotel--delicious and exquisitely prepared and plated dishes served with great attention to detail, wonderful service! Experience was definitely wonderful and we believe we definitely got our money's worth.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
