Amazing boutique hotel. Excellent value for money, best location in madrid. Very modern , 2 Michelin restaurant inside the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is the best, close to Serrano, el corte ingles and the best stores in town!!!

Ourselves and our friends have just returned from 3 nights at this hotel. We chose this hotel for the location and found it perfectly situated, just far enough for a pleasant walk to the centre of Madrid and located in an area with some restaurants not too far away and in the area of Salamanca - very pleasant. The staff... More

I travel a lot for both work and fun. I stayed in this hotel on Jan 28, 2015. It was by far the worst night of sleep i've ever had in a hotel. The room was extremely hot and stuffy. When i asked about air conditioning, i was told that in winter the a/c is turned off and to open... More

Dear Guest, It is very disappointing to see that we did not meet your expectations. Very rarely we receive comments from our guests about the noise from the street, even on those rooms with balcony facing the street. Although the hotel is located on the most cosmopolitan district in the city, at night the neighborhood is well known for its... More

Stayed between Christmas and new year, the hotel is in a beautiful part of town, similar to South ken in London. A place to stay for keen shoppers, and easy to walk to a great selection of restaurants and bars in surrounding areas. Great deal on hotel with BA flights and about 30 mins from airport.

Not sure if this is a 5* hotel but is certainly a very good boutique hotel. All service and commodites. Slightly overpriced but well is on "ground zero" for shopping... Dont expect espacious rooms unless you upgrade. An excelent choice if you seek luxuary stay around that area.

We enjoyed our stay at Unico Madrid. The location is excellent. You feel like your staying in a private home with great service. Ask for one of the larger rooms the standards are a but small. We stayed in a junior suite facing Claudio Cuello; as well as in a standard king overlooking the courtyard.

We had a very lovely stay at this beautiful hotel on our short trip in spain after visiting barcelona. What I liked much about this hotel is the fact that it is located both near business centers and all monuments you want to see on a guided city tour with a Spanish guide. The service was very excellent. We had... More

On a lightly-traveled street, steps away from the boutiques of Madrid’s tony Salamanca district, this small boutique hotel seems a secret that guests may want to keep. Quiet, in minimalist but warm Spanish design, the hotel’s public rooms are a welcome respite from Madrid’s bustle [and bustle it does]. Sleeping rooms are spacious by European standards with perfectly-designed bathrooms –... More

We stayed here and we stayed at the Hotel Ritz. Hotel Unico was better , by far. A much better value. We would stay here agin . we would not stay at the the Ritz again. Moldy and antiquated. Both locations had great concierge service.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
