We found out about this hotel in the internet went with it and got a great surprise. It really is a chic hotel, very nicely furnished, very modern and very clean. We got a very nice room with view to te terrace which is lovely to have a drink in there. Very well located and full of nice people. The... More

Charming, boutique hotel with only 46 or so rooms. The location is great, close to the many cafes, big market with fruit, cheese, salami and fish. Very friendly service, everyone is smiling and nothing is impossible. The hotel has driver available to be at your service if needed. There is a great restaurant at the hotel with Michelin 2 stars,... More

My husband and I spent 5 days at hotel Unico this last month. All in all it was a very nice experience thanks to the excellent and attentive staff. The hotel had a great vibe as to the decor and the public meeting rooms off the lobby were good for business travelers. However, for older people such as ourselves having... More

Very nice hotel in the heart of madrid : good service and nice room : large and modern in a traditional historical building. The whole hotel looks great and with a lot of style. I did not have time to taste the food. I also did not have time to use the patio outside but it looked very nice!

This charming hotel was a pleasure to stay in, situated on a pretty residential street in the heart of the Salamanca. It is quiet, despite its central location, beautifully decorated and the staff are so helpful. Its secret is the little garden where you can have a delicious breakfast on the terrace, unaware you are in the heart of Madrid.

Had a great time in Madrid. The staff assisted us in making the reservations for the restaurants. Even before we arrived. The gym was fine. The ambiance in the hotel super. Loved it. Would recommend the hotel to friends. Location was in a great neighborhood.

Breakfast and restaurant are both very good. Room is nice but the amenities were not replaced. And the staff could be much better for this hotel's category... They don't do their best in order to have the guests satisfied. We asked to be called by the manager to tell him about some points those could be improved but he was... More

Dear Rosana, Thank you for your feedback but as I had the opportunity to talk to your husband before your departure I am very surprised about your comments as very rarely we receive bad reviews from any of our staff. The standard is that our guests highlight the outstanding service they receive from our front desk staff. I regret if... More

Hotel very clean and quiet, according to a five star and the price you pay for it.... More

I go to Madrid once or twice a month and this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Madrid (e.g. better than the Ritz and Villa Magna). Excellent service, superb breakfast, very nice bedrooms, besides a fantastic location.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
