The location is excelent, next to metro station and touristic attractions. I shared my bedroom with others girls and didn't have any problems. The hostel offer the small breakfast free. I liked it! The staff is friendly and helpful.

Nice hostel with great, helpful staff right in the centre of Madrid. There are plently of lockers provided in each room. Socket beside each bed and an ensuite bathroom. The atmosphere is great and you can meet a lot of young travellers from around the world plus it's great value for money.

I recently stayed at this hostel with a group of friends (May 2015). We stayed in an 8-Bed Dorm which was a good size and clean with lockers if required. The facilities were great - communal/bar area, table tennis and chill out area. The roof top bar is great to sit and chill with a cold beer in the sun!.... More

I've stayed in many hostels and Las Musas was the absolute worst. The room was VERY dirty. There were stains on my sheets. The shower had hair in the drain and on the shower walls. When I asked the staff if the room had been cleaned, they answered "yes." Lockers also broken, staff replied they had no extra lockers to... More

Stayed at Las Musas for 3 x nights in May as part of a large group. Absolute top hostel. Staff could not have been more friendly / helpful, and our 8-Person room was well kept, plenty of space, with lockers available. Hostel was busy with mixed crowd, mainly young adults, couples and small families. Check-in staff laid out the ground... More

I recently stayed at Las Musas whilst in Madrid on a stag do. The accommodation was excellent as were the facilities. The hostel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The location of the hostel is superb. I can honestly say I'd happily stay at Las Musas any time!

A group of us stayed at Las Musas for 3 nights in May 2015 and I would recommend it to any other groups, backpackers or anyone looking for good value accommodation for a visit to Madrid. The staff were all great, the rooms were fine and the facilities - dining area/bar, rooftop bar, basement table tennis room - were above... More

I had an awesome time in Madrid thanks to Las Musas! I was traveling alone and met a lot of awesome people at the hostel, and the staff was very warm and great to hang out with (shoutout to Mathilda!) They offer a lot of cool outings like pub crawls and free sangria drinking games, and you can go grocery... More

The only good part about staying at Las Musas was the free walking tour. Harriet was awesome, upbeat, entertaining, and informative. Absolutely everything else about this hostel was horrible. My sister and I were originally booked for 4 nights, but changed our minds after 2. The sheets had black stains on them when we arrived and one of our lockers... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2015

I had one of those experiences that are unforgettable. I stayed there for 15 days while I found a permanent place to stay in Madrid. Staff are still my friends now. Giussepe, Christian, Martha, Alberto, Stefano, everyone of them. Even Asmeth, from the laundry service, they all made me feel at home. Evelyn, from the cleaning service, makes an excellent... More

Staying in Lavapies

Neighborhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighborhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighborhood.
