i think the hostel is a little overpriced for what you get, but what you get is fine. The personnel is friendly, the bed was comfortable. However, there was no option for breakfast inhouse, though I got a recommendation for breakfast close-by which was very cheap and good (still I'd prefer inhouse). Another negative point, you can hear your neighbours... More

not very helpful and they don't know how to treat clients. Facilities: worst room, bed and showers, ever. Heating was not working, curtains were not working, hot water was not working. Cleanliness: wardrobes very bad. Comfort: it's not even a proper hostel, it's just an old building where the 3rd floor is the hostel. Extremely bad the building and the... More

The first and main advantage of Hostal Salamanca for me was its location. Ortega y Gasset is one of the main shopping streets in Madrid so I really enjoyd walking every day to the Hostal. On the whole, This is a good place if you don't need any extra things for your stay. Everything is very clean and simple. Room... More

We only stayed for a few hours (had about 10h between flights and needed a place to sleep for 1-2h after visiting Madrid). The hostel room is very basic but for the price you cannot really expect more. If you only need a room to crash it's an ok place with a good location.

The whole experience was great! Helpful staff, good location and price, free wifi, great value, spacious room, modern, closeby tube station. It is not city centre, but the area is nice and quiet, close to the most important shopping area. It really exceeded our expectations.

The location is really good for small luggage travellers, not far from metro. But hotel itself was in apartment house. My bedroom was around 6m2 and covered by bed, maybe 1,5m2 of floor area. Also it was very hot and not possibility to regulate heating. Nosmoking rooms only and way out with very old and slow lift. Service was nice... More

Perfect stay in a peaceful place in a very comfortable room!!! A friend of mine recommended it and I was very pleased. It is very difficult to find so competent and helpful staff. Definitely one of my top 10 hostels in Europe.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, location is also nice, but it was very expensive for what you would expect of a hostel. I've paid 55 euros per night for a small private room and, after that, realized that other hostels with the same standards are cheaper.

We found our room clean and had air conditioning, tv and comfortable bed (good mattress). Hostal reception staff extremely helpful with suggestions and accomodating changing plans. Nice area (Salamanca barrio) and close to the metro.
