The whole experience was great! Helpful staff, good location and price, free wifi, great value, spacious room, modern, closeby tube station. It is not city centre, but the area is nice and quiet, close to the most important shopping area. It really exceeded our expectations.

The location is really good for small luggage travellers, not far from metro. But hotel itself was in apartment house. My bedroom was around 6m2 and covered by bed, maybe 1,5m2 of floor area. Also it was very hot and not possibility to regulate heating. Nosmoking rooms only and way out with very old and slow lift. Service was nice... More

Perfect stay in a peaceful place in a very comfortable room!!! A friend of mine recommended it and I was very pleased. It is very difficult to find so competent and helpful staff. Definitely one of my top 10 hostels in Europe.

The rooms are comfortable and clean, location is also nice, but it was very expensive for what you would expect of a hostel. I've paid 55 euros per night for a small private room and, after that, realized that other hostels with the same standards are cheaper.

We found our room clean and had air conditioning, tv and comfortable bed (good mattress). Hostal reception staff extremely helpful with suggestions and accomodating changing plans. Nice area (Salamanca barrio) and close to the metro.

We stayed here in August 2012. 4 nights, 2 people, 1 room => 190€ When we arrived we had to choose between a twin bedroom and a double. The (only spanish speaking) Maid talked us into the way smaller but much quieter room (#48). We had up to 1 meter space (on one side and the end of the bed).... More

Salamaca is run more like a small hotel than a hostel. It is very easy to find and it is right next to a metro station. It is clean, quite and basic. There are common areas but it is rare to run into any other guests. Linen is nice and clean. There is a fridge but no kitchen. The wifi... More

I stayed here with a friend in February 2011 for about four days. It is located a little ways away from the city center and you have to walk a few blocks to the the underground, but overall the place was great for the price. Hostal Salamanca is really a great place for especially young couples or friends, who like to stay a few days in Madrid for a relatively low price. Me and my friend have been spent there only two nights. Our plan was 3 nights, but the airline have modified the schedule. So we had to modify the hostal booking also. The... More
