The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was good with a small balcony and free in-room WiFi. The hotel is centrally located, very near to Gran Via. Good location if the prostitutes won't bother you. Besides, it might get very noisy sometimes.

This hostel is perfect for when visiting Madrid and planning to be out most of the day. The rooms are small, but have all the amenities. The location is ideal for tourists, as the Gran Via is just around the corner. The staff speaks perfect English. I would book here my next trip.

Good location, just off Gran via so nice and central. Metro and hop on/ off bus within a few minutes walk an not too far from attractions if you do wish to sightsee on foot. Receptionists are great, full of advise and you can check in 24 hours a day, Room, fantastic if you want a base to sleep in... More

Everything is great at this hostal. The spot, although its in a "busy" street, nobody will annoy you. Very close to the Gran Via, great restaurants nearby and a great enviroment at night. The rooms are clean and spacious. I went in september and it was not too hot or cold.

We slept for 3 nights at this place, location was very central and receptionist were happy to help with the place to visit and gave tips abput where to eat/drink something. The room was clean and comfortable, there was no head dryer, but when I asked the girl at the reception she was happy to give me one. We definetly... More

Booked a last minute break to madrid with my mum (ages 24 and 51) and this hotel was absolutely perfect. Fabulous location, walking distance to plaza major, la Latina and much much more. Hostal itself was modern, and clean. Staff friendly and polite, and we both slept really well! We were a little alarmed by the prostitutes hanging around in... More

Very nice hotel. Good location for a visit to Madrid. Close to everything you want to see. Neighborhood has nearby small restaurants with good, simple food. Short walks to major tourist sites like Plaza Madrid and Plaza del Sol. The immediate neighborhood of the hotel is "interesting" but we never felt at risk at all.

I was very happy staying in this hotel. Mrs Chelo and her collegues were helpful, allowed me and my business partners to store loads of luggage for as long as we needed, they gave us advice on where to go and what to do in the city... The hotel is clean and simple and doesn´t have a restaurant, however, it´s... More

Great little hotel! Room was spacious for price, safe in room, minutes walk to shops, cafes, restaurants ... beautiful Madrid! This Barrio is just up and coming .... and while it may seem a little questionable for the non-traveller ... for the initiated - this is very cool! Staff were brilliant. We had excessive noise our first night ... it... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
