I stayed here with lads on our football trip. Therefore no luxury required. Cheap, basic, clean ish, fairly loud due to nightclub right opposite. Many prostitutes were looking for jobs right outside of the hotel - they didn't seem to bother people walking by. The hotel worked fine for us. But not fine if you bring The Wife or your... More

We stayed at this hotel over three nights, starting from Friday. The hotel itself is nice and is clean and the staff are very helpful. However, we did have problems with noise. On Friday and Saturday night, the night club across the road was very noisy for basically the whole night. Our room was located on the street side and... More

2nd time in Barcelona and 2nd stay at Hotel Ballesta! You simply can’t beat the price of $50 a night for clean and basic hotel. If you want a fantastic view of Madrid, pampered products, and a pricey restaurant in the hotel stay somewhere else. But if you are budget friendly and are looking for a hotel that is in... More

Stayed here twice and just returned from my eighth trip to Madrid. Hotel is central, 2mins to Gran Via and 10 to Sol. Don’t let the Hostal label put you off this is really a hotel, clean, basic but perfectly adequate, free Wi-Fi, good variety of TV channels, free safe in rooms, strong shower, ladies can borrow a hairdryer from... Billed as a hostal, I thought this place could easily call itself hotel. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Reception was friendly, checkin/out was easy and they kept our bags stored for almost 12 hours with no problem. Wifi was free and the signal was good. The room was spare, without a clock or much space but there... More

Came up to Madrid for the weekend and just wanted somewhere central for an overnight stay and found this little gem! Spotlessly clean, charming staff, rooms a little small but perfectly formed, all at a fantastic price. This is a real winner. And all with the free sideshow out in the street!

You can walk from there to Cibeles, Plaza de España, El Prado Museum, Atocha station, etc. A little detail that can make you shudder is that there are prostitutes on the same street, but they are minding their own buisness....
