- Murrieta Hotusa Logroño

We stayed at this awful place on a sadly misinformed visit to the town as a break on the drive from Barcelona to San Sebastian.
The rooms are clean enough, the price right, the location good.....except for the fact that they had NO HOT WATER.
We are kind people....and thought that perhaps with the large number of elderly convention folk...

The Hotel Murrieta is a perfect example of a 3-star hotel in Spain. Perhaps even with a higher quality.
The rooms have an average size. The bathrooms are clean and have a bath with a shower.
The best features of the hotels would be: good size and quality flatscreen in the rooms and helpful and polite staff. The location is...

Very central location ideal for exploring the town and enjoying the festivities of the fiesta San Mateo at the start of the grape harvest.
Luckily my room was at the back of the hotel so I was not disturbed by the noise of the festivites which went on till 4am. The pleasant room was clean and comfortable.

We were greeted warmly upon arrival. the room was quiet and large. The location is perfect for walking through the old city. The reservation staff overcame our lack of Spanish skills and was able to arrange a tour of a local Bodegas (winery) We were more than please with the stay. And the price was only 60 Euros a night!
Having read the tripadvisor reviews, I managed to get a price of 66 euros a night on Orbitz. Since I book 99% of my hotels directly, usually on arrival, this made me nervous. However, due to the many pilgrims coming through, reservations are a good idea - the hotel fully booked up in advance.
I was entirely happy on arrival....

A well appointed city centre hotel ideal for a stay of a few days. Underground car park was a bonus.
Our room was well appointed although the decoration ressembled somewhat a travel inn/lodge.
Few people seemed to eat in the hotel and we ate in local cafes and found Calle Laurel a lively and atmospheric street full of bars serving...
