The hotel is actually quite hard to spot from the road due to its location in a residential street. The reception is very traditional, but the welcome was very friendly. As mentioned by other reviewers the hotel is a bit dated in decor, but the bed was comfortable and everything worked and the price was excellent. The breakfast buffet was... More

When we drove to the hotel we were shocked of the location, (bit of a residential high rise area), together with the very basic reception and bedroom area I did debate actually staying the night. The room had two ashtrays even though I requested non smoking. It was all a bit in need of a face lift except the bathroom... More

We planned on staying here two nights with the idea if visiting a bodegas or two- we had experienced a really good tour of 3 chateaux with wine tasting and really first class meal in Bordeaux which was organised by the town hall and thought it would easy to arrange the same kind of thing in the Rioja area. It... More

We chose Haro as a location for an overnight stop on the way to Santander. Hotel Luz was our choice and as it turned out, a very good choice. Friendly reception staff, clean and tidy room, warm and a comfortable bed. The decor is a little bit tired but on the whole, this hotel is excellent value for the money... More

We have been staying overnight on a regular basis in Luz Hotel in the interesting Riojan town of Haro for nearly 10 years whilst travelling between Barcelona and Asturias with our 2 kids. We always found the place quiet, fairly well priced and convenient. However, we were very disappointed, if not surprised, that the place has gone down hill a... More

Ideal stop over although very convenient for Visiting Haro with its wide selection of bodegas. Overnight garage parking was available which was good as our car was full of clothes etc.as we were. Returning from holiday. We had dinner which was very good and excellent value for money, accompanied with a very nice Rioja wine.breakfast not such good value but... More

Edge of town, in area of apartment blocks. Parking on nearby streets. Bedroom and breakfast OK. Restaurant empty and unwelcoming in the evening so walked into town for good food in the lively Restaurant Atamauri.

We spent a weekend at this hotel last month and we got exactly what we were expecting based on comments from other users and information at the hotel website. The hotel is a bit overpriced considering that, but I guess we went there at the high season, with an event going on in town and also local Feast at nearby... More

Well, I am quite surprised at some of the comments here. We stayed at the Luz on 5 Sept 12. The quality of the twin beds was EXCELLENT, we had our first good nights sleep. Okay, we went into town for food in the evening, but the breakfast was EXCELLENT. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. We WOULD stay... More

You get what you pay for is very true in the case of the Luz. The Hotel is well past its sell by date and the photos on the website do not reflect reality - it is "tired" and badly needs a refresh. We stayed on a Sunday night. Having arrived mid afternoon we were hungry, but sadly no food... More
