We've just spent three nights in this unusual hotel, with a group of friends. The hotel has a long history, starting in thirteen hundreds when it was a convent, then a military garrison, before becoming a hospital then a prison and is now a hotel. The rooms are spacious, facilities good with good food. Our room overlooked the central atrium,... More

We enjoyed the old character of this hotel. Its base architecture is gothic but renovated with nice modern touches. The end result is fantastic! Rooms were well appointed, spacious and old fashioned. We just didn't appreciate the fact that you had to make a 5 euro deposit to use the in-room safe. Nevertheless, it was a room. The bathrooms were... More

Wonderful hotel in the wine region of Spain. This is an old monastery, prison, etc. Its has lot of old charm and all new comforts. The hotel is well situated in the City, walking distance to many of the wineries . Excellent breakfast and dining room in the center of the hotel. This hotel is different and one to remember.... Perfect medieval town in the heart of the rioja wine country offers this 14th century hotel. Loved the town and the nearby wineries. Hotel was a monastery in the 1300s, then a military barracks, then a military hospital, then a prison. Good choice for a rioja vacation. Excellent restaurant but limited choices. Loved the baby octopus salad and pricey-but-complete brunch.... More

This is an 18th Century Monastery converted into a huge hotel. The common areas are interesting enough, though the architecture is certainly not beautiful. They have done a fine job with antique appointments, though the "contemporary" lighting fixtures are out of place. Service is efficient but not very friendly. The rooms are spacious enough, though there is a funky smell... More

Rooms are arranged as two singles, and are perfect if you are travelling with your wine buddies. Rooms are decently equipped with free wifi, a clean and functional bathroom, plenty of storage space, and air conditioning. Beds are too hard for my liking, and street noise means a pair of ear plugs are a necessity in the mornings. The lobby... More

We spent three nights here in April. I have to say the hotel, it's staff, and the restaurant were excellent. We had steak and a local (Muga) Crianza for our first meal and it was fabulous. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Right in the heart of the Rioja wine district.

This is a very elegant hotel with a beautiful courtyard, adorned with fascinating art. Be sure to spend some time just hanging out in the courtyard relaxing with a glass of wine. The front desk staff are efficient and business-like, not super friendly like we experienced in bed and breakfast inns in Spain. Overall, it was a great experience.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while part of a tour group. The old stone building is beautiful and not far the main plaza. There are a variety of shops nearby and an wonderful bakery a block away. The once open courtyard has been covered with a giant skylight and is a very nice place to sit, visit,... More

Lovely old hotel, dates back 700 years - big rooms, delightful courtyard- , helpful staff. Plumbing is a little noisy at times. Hotel restaurant Las Duelas has limited menu but good food. Would definitely stay here again if in Haro.
