I previously stayed in the Bristol Hoel in January 2003. I stayed there again in June 2009 - nothing had changed since my previous visit (apart from an upgrade to one of the two lifts). The Bristol Hotel appears to have had a major (but rather cheap-looking) refurbishment in the 1970s; it is in dire need of a further refurbishment.... more

My partner and I stayed in the Bristol Hotel, Gibraltar for 5 nights recently. The location is lovely however the rooms are very dated and small. The reception staff are vert friendly and the rooms are cleaned daily more

Firstly this hotel is in an excellent location for exploring the sites of Gib' just off main street, very near a pick up point for the Gib' Taxi Tours ( worth doing ) within walking distance of the cable car station and Casement Square for low cost eating. The hotel does have lots of dark wood in the rooms and... more

A lot of the previous reviews make valid points, it is dated and it is in need of some major refurbishment mainly with the rooms and corridors but it is clean and I would use it again although not as my first choice as I wish to try somewhere else next time. The Foyer and lounge are quite nice and... more

It's really not as terrible as some of the reviews on here but it all depends on your expectations. The hotel is very old and is in need of renovation without a doubt. It's very 1970's style but having said that, my room although old was very clean. It even passed the picture dust test. The bathrooms do have old... more

My Husband and I were booked to stay for one night (thank god!!) whilst we were in Gibraltar on business. From the outside we were initially pleasantly surprised and the location seemed perfect if you wanted to be within walking distance of shops and bars etc. We arrived on a Sunday night after a long flight and with no previous... more

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some bad ones all over the world. The staff are surly, the breakfasts inedible, the 'bar', usually locked, or at best hosting two or three locals, the pool, nothing more than a glorified washing up bowl with a cracked plastic roof on it, and the garden... more

Met up with some friends who had driven down from Spain to join us. Our friend had made the booking, indicating that we would be arriving by car and would need a parking space. No problem he was told - we have parking for our guests. On arrival, we found they have 6 spaces for 60 rooms and 'you will... more

The Bristol hotel was a great place to stay purely because your slap bang in the middle of Gibraltar, about 15 seconds walk onto the main street and not too far away from the cable cars to go up and see the Barbary Apes (a must for any visitors) or St Michaels Caves. My overall impression of the hotel was... more

I stayed here for 5 nights in October 2008 together with my wife and teenage son. We'd opted for a triple room to save money and were pleasantly surprised how large room 304 was. The decor will not be to some tastes but everything is kept spotlessly clean. The ensuite bath, shower, toilet and wash basin was adequate only problem... more
