I, as a British citizen living in Spain, came down to Gibraltar the night before I had an interview scheduled for the next day at 9am.

After coming back from backpacking around Asia I had little money and needed cheap accommodation. Therefore I booked into this establishment. Having been spoiled in Asia with plush rooms and affordable accommodation with a friendly smile to match, I was not prepared for what was in store!

This Hostel has a ridiculous time keeping schedule. It closes at 10.30am and re-opens at 4.30pm. Check out time is 10.30am.

My room was more like a cell (in fact I think prisoners get a better deal!) and it was small with no open air windows with a lumpy mattress.

I went to my interview, however declined the 1 month temporary assignment. I arrived at the Hostel at 10.25 to find all doors shut and no management around. As I was unable to check out I had to wait until 16.30pm to be able to gain access to my possessions and leave the... more
