The rooms were large, comfortable, and quiet. The staff was great, and very helpful. The hotel was a block from the Cathedral, and within walking distance of all Santiago sights. We walked the Camino de Santiago, and stayed at the San Francisco Hotel Monumento before and after our walk. The restaurant was very good. We were very pleased. more

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a romantic city break and had a fantastic time. The hotel is lovely blend of medieval and modern, with good service, even the standard room was nicely appointed with good bathroom and great view out onto the street towards the cathedral. The pool and sauna in their own building isn't ideal, but we... more

Your hotel came highly recommended and I stayed with you overnight on Friday July 4th. Although I found the hotel itself and its amenities very impressive I have to express great disappointment with the service. On ordering a drink at the cafe/bar on arriving I found the waitress had poor English and finding a suitable wine was extremely difficult. I... more

Great hotel. It is beautiful, old, yet modern. The staff at the front desk is very nice and helpful. Good location. I loved it and highly recommend it. Only downside is the cost. There may be cheaper alternatives that are still good. Recommend Tetilla cheese, Ribeiro (lightly sparkling wine - white) and Torta de Santiago. Museum de Pobo Gallego is... more

I loved this Hotel. Staff are excellent. Location is great. Food is good. Can't praise the hotel and especially staff enough. Worth a visit at any price. Loved every minute. more

We stayed in Santiago de Compostela one night, and had a delightful experience. The hotel was a bit challenging to find, but free valet parking was available once we arrived, so no worries about the car until it was time to leave. We booked a superior double room, but a suite was provided. Didn't quite understand the explanation, but that... more

I stay in this hotel in 28/02 to 29/02 to celebrate my 4 anniversary of relationship. I stay with my wife and my 3-year-old daughter. It was my first time in the hotel and Santiago Compostela. The hotel is in the historical centre and it was an ancient convent. It is easy to notice, not only for his construction as... more

The location of the Hotel Monument SF was ideal, a long block off the Cathedral Plaza and the casco viejo (the old town). This reconverted monastery was lovely - an architect's delight... a traveler's small headache. Not so bad if your room is not located in the "north forty" - two elevators and ten minutes later. The rooms were small/tight... more

Having been recommended by a Galician friend of mine, I booked my parents in for a 7 night stay at this hotel. Upon leaving their breakfast on their first morning, my father was confronted at the door of the dining room by the breakfast manager because he had a small actimel/yoghurt type drink in his hand. The reason for was... more

I really cannot fault this hotel and it just added that extra special touch to our weekend break in Santiago. Firstly, the location is excellent. Straight out the front door and 2 minutes you're in the main square. The hotel is a beautiful old building (ex monastery?) and is still joined to a beauiful church. However what made it so... more
