- Husa Universal Hotel

I booked 3 nights at the Husa Universal as a cheaper option having stayed at the San Martin Pinariuo. At 40 Euro's per night I didn't expect much, and that's what I got. The carpets are torn and dirty, the walls damaged, the room itself was OK, although the window over a closed atrium where someone practised his saxophone in...

My boyfriend and I visited Santiago for the weekend and stayed in this hotel for two nights. We had originally been torn between this hotel and another one in the Husa chain which had a 3-star rating but was a bit further out of the centre. Unless you are a backpacker or a peregrine on a very tight budget try to pick another hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious but no amenities whatsoever, very, very basic. If you are driving there's an underground parking garage across the street, 12 Euro a day, very convenient! The hotel is 10 min walk from Santiago's Cathedral. The internet is...

All in all its convenient place to...

This hotel cost about GBP38 for a double/twin/single room. The beds are clean although the decor has seen better days.
A review I read commented that there was quite a bit of road noise and thats a fair point but if you are a sound sleeper (or can return to sleep), which we all could, then this hotel is too...

Admittedly the Universal isn't hugely expensive; especially not when you consider it's right in to the centre of town. However, you really do need air con, which - in my room at least - it just doesn't have. As a result, it was far too hot in bed, and even on a day when there had been rain and it...
