We liked this hotel, it is in a fantastic location, a beautiful building. We had a problem in our room though. When we arrived it smelled of vomit. I rang the front desk who were a little rude but then put me through to housekeeping. They came up and took the rug away which reaked but left the sofa which... more

The building drips with history and is great to look at. In that sense it is worth it. Stayed 4 nights myslef. However, it does have problems. The standard rooms are small and can be noisy, water running above etc. For a 5 star hotel it has few facilities: no pool, no sauna, no gym etc. Like many pardors the... more

I did the Camino de Santiago from France to Santiago de Compostela and decided to enjoy the luxury at the end of the trip of staying in the old building right slap bang next to the Catedral, which originally was built for pilgrims. Today it's a luxury hotel, but I never did feel out of place, despite my hiking gear... more

My wife and I stayed four nights in August. It is simlar to the parador in leon in that it is a fantatstic old building but open to the public. There are no sitting rooms or bars just for guests. We had booked a junior suite only to find that the four poster bed was two singles and no others... more

Our experience was only so-so. The room was on the first floor, and was very dark and below-ground level. Also, faced the very noisy street where the bagpiper played all day! We asked to switch rooms and staff didn't even make an attempt to help. Make sure you get an upper floor room if you stay here. The hotel sent... more

A beautiful hotel in an historic building right in the heart of Santiago de Compostela. The rooms were large and clean. The decor was a little old fashioned but anything else would have been out of place in the building. It was surprisingly quiet inside giving the hubbub in the square it overlooks. It was a trip unto itself just... more

This is a beautiful hotel, it may not be cheap, but how many hotels have this kind of history? It is in the perfect location, has helpful staff - beautiful courtyards, delicious straight forward food and is a true gem. It may be slightly tired - but Im glad it hasnt been attacked by interior designers armed with bolts of... more

My wife and I stayed here (now) four years ago on our first trip together to Spain and it was absolutely gorgeous. Yes, it is one of the most expensive Paradors in all of Spain but it is worth every penny. In the heart of the city, you are only a few minutes walk from incredible bars, restaurants and shopping.... more

It's old, cranky, a little rusty, but... who cares! It's simply one of the most magnificent buildings, in one of the most impressive places you can spent the night. Try to take a walk in Plaza do Obradoiro late in the night and you will understand what I mean. The rooms are big and beaultiful, with wall one meter thick... more

Hotel lovely architecturally, food rather hum drum and vastly over priced even with the special half board deal, staff where generally haughty and unhelpful, The best thing to do would be go room only and eat out, the only benefit of the hotel, was the non smoking policy, almost impossible to find any where you are not assaulted by the... more
