Great location, can't get any more central unless you work in the cathedral !!! Breakfast very good and the tour round the hotel was very interesting. Would definitely stay again if I ever return to Santiago.

What can I say? This Parador lives up to its excellent reputation. Welcoming, very comfortable and imbued with ancient whispers and Pilgrim's footsteps. Mass at Noon on a Sunday was an interesting and moving experience. We started queueing at 11:35 and got in (no seat) It's tip top clean, warm and the corridors smell of centuries of wax polish. It... After finish walking the Camino I went straight to this hotel to get a room. I only stayed for 2 nights because prices are reasonably high. My room was very beautiful but the internet was slow. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. The only thing that annoyed me some time was that every time i entered the hotel or... More

This is an imposing and impressive building on the main square. I dare you not to gasp in awe on entering the hallway; I can't imagine the artisanal and craft workers needed to maintain its upkeep. As others have written of the history - let me write about the hotel. It's a classic Spanish hotel with old school Spanish service.... More

Arriving at the hotel is quite an experience. You have to enter the pedestrianised area and drive through the streets thronged with hundreds of tourists and pilgrims to reach the cathedral square, where this amazing hotel is located. No sooner had we pulled up in front of the main entrance than a gentleman hurried to our car and took our... More

A completely fitting place to stay in Santiago - an historic building on La Praza do Obradoiro right next to the Basilica !! Calming cloisters, beautifully decorated very comfortable rooms, and in vaults of the lower levels a superb restaurant (unusual for Paradors).

You have to experience it to believe it. To be able to stroll around its 4 peaceful and beautiful cloisters is worth the stay. Top quality service and an unbeatable location. This place is a historical landmark and absolutely the best place to stay in Santiago.

Stayed with my sister in this great historic building facing plaza, ancient cathedral, old uni and historic office of president. Little shops cafés and buskers in all the surrounding cobblestone laneways. Arrived by car and can just drive at walking speed to miss the crowds and unload out the front in the square like a VIP. Parking 1 block away... More

Paradores are, most of the time, a sure value - OK, they are not cheap, but you get value for your money. This is especially true for the Parador of Santiago. Absolutely stunning building, very nice and friendly service, clean and well-thought facilities, everything is there to have a pleasant and relaxing stay. A couple of tips: The rooms close... More

We stayed 3 nights and found this hotel to be perfect. The location is second to none. Right next to the church and with restaurants and shops all around the labyrinth of streets around you can explore from the parador to your hearts content. Santiago de Compostela is a beautiful town and well worth exploring.
