The Parador in Santiago is a phenomenal combination of unequaled historical ambiance and friendly, attentive service. While my room wasn't that of a 5-star hotel, it was certainly clean, comfortable, had all the amenities (flat screen TV, minibar, etc.). It also looked out over a Renaissance courtyard. The Parador has a bar, a cafe, and a fine dining restaurant. All... More

This is without doubt the prime location if you are a tourist or pilgrim in Santiago de Compostela. It faces the square that is also faced by the Cathedral where all of the pilgrims are headed as they travel through Spain. The rooms are relatively spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The hotel interior is very quiet. This hotel was built... More

In older times the Parador served as a hostel for pilgrims after reaching the shrine to St James in the adjacent cathedral. Beautifully appointed, it retains what one imagines to be a medieval atmosphere with its gorgeous antiques, the slightly subdued lighting and monastery tranquility in the galleries, cloisters and passageways, all contained by vast granite walls, . Set on... More

Great location and very close to Camino certificate office/cathedral/shops and accommodations. The interior gardens are stunning. Large, modern bathrooms. The front-desk service was great as was the breakfast buffet. Rooms by alley could be noisy. No gym.

Well if you love an historical hotel you can't beat this .Location right on the main square with a view of the cathedral and all the pilgrims who finish their walk there. If you take a car you can pay for valet parking, but you won't need it in the city as the old bit is small. We got directions from... More

We stayed two nights at this parador, which is located right next to the cathedral and the end of the St. James walk. We had dinner in the old "morgue" and the sole was among the best I have had. The rooms were fine. Ours was on the back of the property and once we found the right elevator to... More

This hotel is in a superb position to see all the sights of the old city and be right amongst the action. The rooms are large and tastefully furnished with antiques or copies. The ambience of the hotel really brings the history of the building alive. It is certainly a great place to stay at the end of your journey... More

After hiking the Camino our group of 2 couples spent two magical nights at this very special parador. We had beautiful rooms and a very restful experience. The staff were extemely pleasant and helpful. Due to some construction, there was some noise in one of our rooms, but the management took special care to be sure our second(and last night)... More

What an amazing location and amazing historical place to stay. 15th century hospital building turned into a hotel. Right on the cathedral square and a fabulous place to stay for seeing the sights and exploring the many bars and cafés in Santiago. Breakfast served in a stunning room overlooking the square. Modern bathrooms and stunning old rooms with four poster... More
