Just back from a 4 night stay in the Hotel Margarit. Excellent location, less than 10 minutes from bus station. Bus leaves outside the airport and takes about 15 minutes. Stayed here for 1 night in February 2009. The hotel is in an ideal spot to get to the old town and any bars/restaurants along the river, and is only 5 mins walk from the bus station The rooms are very clean with an all important clean bathroom with shower. Ideal location mid-way between bus/train station and historic quarter (10 minutes). Had 2 nights in a single room not yet refurbished but it was ensuite and very clean with daily maid service. Soap and towels provided (and changed each day) together with a hair dryer! Been in many 3/4 star hotels where you have to 'hire' a hair dryer; here... more

would recommend this pension hotel 1* stayed there on tues evening feb 17th 2009. staff very helpful and all spoke very good english.you can walk into the town in five mins no problem,i would say that drinks are expensive and so is some of the food in town. eg bacardi/coke 6e,hamburger/chips 9.80 e irish bar in ramblas.did not get chance... more

We booked this 1* pension from advance and it was a big hit. We took the double room which had a very comfortable bed, 2 chairs and a nice bathroom. Everything was clean and the reception was very helpful. We also took their breakfast for only 3 euro per person that includes a coffee and a sandwich which was good.... more

We stayed for 3 nights at this pension last weekend. We had the double superior room and it was so lovely. Clean, comfortable and great value for money! Staff were friendly and on the reception 24hours and also the towels were changed and bed re-made every morning when we went out. 'Zen' room was lovely and an ideal sun trap... more

lots of previous reviews mentioned terrible pillows .The pillow problem was resoved when we went.! In general definately better than I expected from a budget booking.our room was spacious and bed comphy.the 'zen' garden was an unexpected bonus and the location ,whilst a bit grotty ,was very near the old town .don't get too excited about it overlooking the river.When... more

The Hotel is great located near the old town (10 min. walk) and the main shopping street (2 min. walk), the supermarket is in the next door. The room (standard) was wery clean, nice and the bathroom modern and clean as well. For the price 60EUR/Room is it a great deal. What was really dissapointing me was the street noise... more

My wife and I stayed in the margarit for two nights. Could not find such a convenient location for double the money in Girona. Staff were friendly and helpfull. Plenty of hot water, fresh towels and fresh linen. Arrived early and staff stored my luggage. Breakfast good value. Bed good by spanish standards but pillows dreadful.
