There is much to like about the Hotel Historic: great location, beautiful building and room, good breakfast, helpful host. However, the bells from the cathedral next door rang every 15 minutes 24/7. We could not sleep Saturday or Sunday night, so could never recommend this hotel. As well, the bathroom features a clear glass door (always a peeve and spreading).... More

The Historic is a small, family run hotel just next to the cathedral and its character rings true to this medieval city. My room was on the 1st floor at the front of the hotel yet was pretty quiet. The room had a comfortable queen bed, working desk, a room safe and air-conditioning; very comfortable and modern throughout. The bathroom... More

We visited the Girona Tourist Office while passing through the city. They recommended we stay a few days and see their lovely city and offered to help us find an apartment for 3 days. We were worried about parking but the hotel parked our van right outside the hotel. They recommended this apartment for us that was in the "old... More

My wife and I stayed here on a birthday trip and loved it. The service was excellent, the room was quirky, but spacious and very cool, and the hotel is very well situated, a minute's walk from the cathedral and easy walking distance to all the town's sites. Prices were very reasonable, and we would definitely stay here again. Highly... More

This place is in a perfect location, right up by the cathedral. It's easy to walk anywhere. We had a family apartment, with 2 separate bedrooms and a lounge, which was great for such a central city hotel. The owner was very helpful especially with directions and parking. Highly recommended.

The Apartment was ok. 2 rooms with 3 beds. Moved one out in the living room as we were 3 friends. No aircon, but three nice fans. Simple Kitchen, but enough to make a light meal, and have some breakfast etc. Nice Breakfast served by the table downstairs for 10 Euro extra. The placement is excellent in the middle of... More

What an extraordinary place! Quite an adventure driving to it - ignore gps and trust your instincts. Beautifully presented at the top of the old town. Top floor rooms with panoramic stretch across Girona to the hills. However, if bells aren't your thing bring ear plugs as it's right next door to the cathedral. Staff happy to help put however... The hotel is a challenge to drive to but the owner's will assist in finding a parking location after check in. The rooms seem to be scattered thought out the old building and the apartments have fully equipped kitchens. The lift is small but adequate. All Girona's sights are with in a five minute easy walking down hill. With the... More

I stayed for five nights at Hotel Historic in March, 2014 – while riding the hills both north and south of Girona. Hotel Historic is a family owned business – Shobi and his mom run the small hotel, in a restored medieval building; his dad created much of the artistic brass and other metalwork. The hotel is drop-dead gorgeous –... More
