Excellent centre location, a great find from the Tourist office. Staff friendly, room & en suite clean. But, the double glazing didn't seem to prevent much noise, so the bin men, and then a charity run woke us early in the morning. Easy walking to the old city, (and its walls) as well as the main square with many restaurants... More

I selected this hotel as 3 star, having had problems with a couple of 2 star hotels during the previous three weeks. But it was well below those 2 star hotels, a very basic room room, and heating that did not work. I was offered another room, but heating in that did not work either. After a lot of persistence... Nice old hotel. Advantages - good location: really centre of the town, near the river, 5 minutes to the old part of town; clean rooms, friendly staff. Disadvantage - there were a few plugs in the room.

We stayed three nights (weekend) at the Peninsular after a holiday in Roses. It was clean and comfortable with a certain style. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't try the restaurant, so can't comment. The hotel is very central, about 5 minute's walk to Independence Square for restaurants.

Nothing fancy, but clean and situated very close the centre of the city. AC works properly. Good place to stay for a night or two when you watch for your budget. In the price we have been offered there was no breakfast but Wi fi was free and it worked fine.

This hotel was delightful to stay in! We booked it over a weekend to see the old city and the Jewish quarters - since Barcelona's Jewish section has been completely erased - and were surprised by how close we were to everything; the old city is mere minutes away by foot. Much of the hotel has been recently remodeled and... More

Very central and great value for money, the Peninsular is a very old hotel and its stylish foyer belies its age. However the rooms are very dated yet functional and clean. Bed was comfortable enough and wi-fi was OK. A/C was effective. If on a budget then thsi option is hard to fault.

It's four years since we were last at the Peninsular, and our overall feeling then was that they could try harder. Unfortunately nothing much seems to have changed, except the wi-fi which this time worked well in our room. On the negative side our room was the tiniest we have ever had, and the bed was rock-hard, and made a... More

The location is perfect. The hall and breakfast room are nice and the staff is collaborative (we asked to change room because of the beds (hard and with springs signing) The buffet breakfast is average without eggs of any kind and packed muffins and buns, with sliced bread american style and poor taste. Hope they will improve the bedding in the... More
