The hotel was clean and comfortable. There weren't a lot of frills, but it served its purpose. I would not necessarily recommend visiting Girona, however. Not a lot going on. While I imagine it would be a wonderful place to live, there's not much to see or do. more

I went to Girona to watch a Shakespeare's play in the "Teatre Municipal de Girona". I chose this hotel because it was close to the Theatre and in the centre of Girona. I spent only one night (room 105). The room was nice and seemed new and the bathroom was very modern. The room was interior and the view was... more

We found this hotel very pleasant. As all say, it's all about the location. I can't imagine a better one. We did not find it noisy and found the complete room-darkening shades a great/helpful ammenity. The accommodations are simple, not glitzy, but we found our room clean and the staff nice. more

The noise was bearable and almost not noticeable when closing the window. Free internet connection, but needed to log in several times due to loss of connection. Nevertheless, the location made up for the small inconveniences. more

Gerona has always been on our list to have a leisure stay and sightseeing break without kids. City lovely and hotel is right in the centre and so close to the main sight seeing areas of the city. Rooms ok - quite modern and v clean, staff very helpful. We didn't have breakfast, but used the bar next door and... more

Like most other reviewers I would say the location of this hotel was excellent - just across the river from the old town and 10 minutes walk from the train/bus station where you could also get car hire. The buses to and from Girona airport were very cheap and started at 4 am so it was not worth getting a... more

The best thing about the Hotel Peninsular is it's location. Turn left out of the hotel cross the bridge and you're in Girona's old quarter. The Placa de Independencia which has plenty of bars and restaurants is also close by as is the main shopping area. The hotel is nicely furnished and the staff are pleasant, the girl on reception... more

We went to Girona for New Year 2008/09. The hotel has a great location near the river on the new town side. The old town is just across the river. The receptionists were excellent, especially the lady receptionist. The rooms were clean with all the facilities you need. Breakfast was great and we had a great time. The city itself was... more

As like most of the reviews before mine say this is the best location for a hotel in gerona! we got the bus from airport which took about 30 mins in peak traffic, straight to the bus station for an amazing 4 euros return ticket... we picked up a map from there to dirct us to the street the peninsular... more
