As only my second hostel I have ever stayed in, it was a pleasant experience! Bed linens, breakfast, and one drink were all included for free. The bar/sitting area downstairs was a nice place to hang out at night or in the morning for breakfast. The WiFi was excellent, but I didn't realize there would be no soap in our... More

The hotel has nice accomodations and is well located, close to a metro station. Rooms have nice electronic lockers and good mattresses. Bathrooms are collective, and are kept clean most of the time. Staff was really helpful and friendly, so we felt pretty welcome. Breakfast is ok but could use some more variety. Rooms are pretty affordable. Overall is a... More

I enjoyed my stay at HelloBCN in Barcelona. The front desk staff were excellent and had great suggestions and recommendations! The hostel is very affordable and the rooms are basic. I found the 8 room dorm to a bit crowded but it sufficed. The lockers were in the middle of the room so it basically made it feel a little... More

You won't regret staying at this hostel because it offers such great value! Although the room was not big, but the bed was rather comfortable :) The lockers are big! You use a magnetic watch to unlock it. You must also use it when you want to enter the hostel and they also check that each person has it for... More

Lots of good stuff about this hostel. First of all, they have a nice kitchen, which helps a lot if you want to save some money. Breakfast is offered and is not bad at all. Gentle and helpful staff. Really nice atmosphere! They even have a ping pong table. Good locker system, with electronic bracelets for each locker. The only... More

I was in Barcelona with a friend of mine and wanted to stay in a nice cosy place. HelloBCN was the perfect choice. It's great if you want to socialize and also a good starting point to discover Bracelona sights. The hostel is innovative and modern, the "keys" are bracelets that unlock all the doors (front/room door). The decoration is... More

As a 50 y/o man traveling in Europe for the first time I wanted to experience a few hostels. After reading reviews I settled on HelloBCN Hostel. It turns out it was a good choice. The location was near a lot of restaurants, two blocks from the metro and 3-4 blocks to the beach. The area was very safe both... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
