Perfect location with a self service laundromat right across the street. We had two nights here to begin with and came back a week later for a third night. Staff are ultra friendly and very helpful. Double room has a fan (no air con but wasn't too hot) bathroom with shower and sink (no toilet but not a problem) and... More

Stayed here for 5 nights whilst visiting barcelona and found it clean friendly and laid back. Well supplied kitchen meaning you can cook and it's located in an edgier part of the city so it's loads less touristy. Whilst the rooms are big and clean and have lockers they can get a little hot and the front dorms get loads... More

To get things started, let me explain who I am. I am a 21 year old solo female traveler. I have been to 14 countries and counting. I have stayed in friends homes, apartments, hotels (3 stars and up), hostels, and B&B's. I really liked my time at this hostel because it has an excellent location and dinner was FREE... More

Just checked out of this hostel yesterday after spending 4 nights there in 3 different rooms (my choice, complicated booking). I found all the rooms and shower rooms very clean and well maintained and the location is excellent - could not have been better for the sight seeing trip I was on. You don't get a key to the main... Just checked out of this hostel. Some positive things to note is that its clean and the location is excellent. You haven't got a key to the main door, you have to use a buzzer but you're always let up straight away, it can just get a bit meh. I had a very small amount of contact with the staff... More

Downtown was very colorful and fun. It was safe and had a very cozy feeling. I only stayed for a night or two, but it was very clean. Obviously it wasn't a luxury hotel, so the beds were twin size and not very comfortable, but that's what you get when you travel around and stay at hostels. I would definitely... More

I stayed in hostal downtown with my sister last August and th staff were extremely friendly, it was a walking distance from all the big monuments in barcelona also 20 mins walk from the beach, the rooms were clean a bit smaller than expected but it's a good place if all u need is a place to sleep.

This hostel has fantastic staff, clean bathrooms and a great outdoor terrace. Unfortunately the rooms are quite small with no air conditioning which was almost unbearable during the summer nights. The location is wonderful, only a short walk from La Rambla and the waterfront. I would recommend hiring a bike though for getting to the beach.

Stayed only for 1 night, its clean, silent and centrally located. The staff was really helpful. And the terrace garden is a perfect setting for a breakfast and dinner under the stars. Best part its walk-able distance to the sea front.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
