We stayed for 2 nights a few weeks ago. The hotel was quite nice. modern and clean. Room was ok, walls painted dark red which made the room look dark even with the lights on, and we could keep the curtain open as all we had was a long window that people could see in as our room was next... More

Location was pretty close to Ramblas, which was good. Room was average; undecorated, beds quite stiff, nice balcony (ask wiew to the street!) No fridge or minibar in the room. Shower was bad, water didn't stay warm. Friendly staff and ok breakfast for 8 euros.

We travelled to Barcelona in October and it was love at first sight! The city is so beautiful and the weather in October was great. Hotel Ciutat Vella is having modern and clean rooms. The breakfast is manageable - you don't have a large selection but it is very good - I especially remember the delicious chocolate croissants :-) The... More

The hotel is really good - it has rather comfortable and clean rooms. There is free Wi-Fi everywhere. The situation of the hotel is excellent - it's just in the centre of the city, close to Rambla, Catalunia square. It's a wonderful place for shoppoholics. The breakfast isn't very big, but there is a wonderful coffee machine and you can... More

Booked this for a quiet last minute weekend away with the wife before Christmas. Pictures don't really do it justice. Clean, friendly staff, value for money - would maybe ask for food recommendations from the hotel though. The local restaurants weren't great. Amazing location for a short weekend stay.

When I booked the hotel I was wary as it didn't look that amazing on the photos but it was cheap and very central so wasn't expecting much. On my arrival the reception staff Alessandro checked me in and I mentioned I would prefer a room with a street view and wasn't concerned about noise. He looked to see what... More

Hotel is perfect from a to z: location, helpful staff, cleaning, modern decor, comfort and price! You get service more than you paid ;) -dont have breakfast at hotel - you can find a lot of bakery or cafes around hotel. -for going to gothic quarter just cross the street ;) -and last point: hotel is side by side with... We stayed 3 nights in a nice spacious room with clean and good bathroom. Also breakfast was very good (certainly for catalan/spanish standards) with lots of choice. Very convenient to have free coffee and water available all the time; wifi worked fine on room. Staff was very helpfull and friendly; a broken towel rail was fixed the same day and... More

The hotel is really close to the central area, including the La Ramblas and the public transport system. My wife and I got in very late. They had the room saved for us. It was really clean. There was free wifi throughout the hotel rooms and lobby. One of the coolest things was that they provided free water throughout! That... More

This hotel is close to Les Rambles and so many tourist destinations and eateries are in close proximity, as are key subway and train stations. Nicely kept, comfortable rooms are minimalist and so don't plan to spend much time there! Water and coffee gratis is a nice touch, I have not taken advantage of its roof top space but may... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
