Good little hotel in a good location, with lots of cool urban and vintage shops near by. Found some great more local style places to eat round there too, not over priced. Staff were friendly, rooms basic but clean and Wi Fi was a bit slow but fine. However... If like us you book a room for the draw of... More

Visited this hotel April 2015 as we could not get in at our first choice. Great location for all sights however the noise outside if you are facing the street is very loud. There are about three bars right outside the hotel with noise levels continuing till well after three A.M. The hotel was good value for money but quite... More

The hotel has a great location, only 400m from the Ranblas and near placa Catalunya and placa Universidad. But it's also located at a little square with qiute some noise in the evenings and nights. When you have a room on the front( street) this is very annoying. The breakfast is oke. The room is not cleaned very thoroughly, after... More

We stayed here for 3 nights over Easter. The location is perfect- we rarely had to get public transport and just walked to the Gothic Quarter when we went out at night. We arrived early and were given our room at 12.30pm which was much appreciated. We had a first floor room street facing with a balcony. I'll admit there... More

The location is ideal which is why I gave it 2 stars. The walls of the rooms are so thin u can practically hear what the person in the other room is thinking . Breakfast is poor. Room is not cleaned nor the bed sheets changed for 6 days , they just empty the garbage bin and fix the bed.... More

We stayed for 2 nights a few weeks ago. The hotel was quite nice. modern and clean. Room was ok, walls painted dark red which made the room look dark even with the lights on, and we could keep the curtain open as all we had was a long window that people could see in as our room was next... More

Location was pretty close to Ramblas, which was good. Room was average; undecorated, beds quite stiff, nice balcony (ask wiew to the street!) No fridge or minibar in the room. Shower was bad, water didn't stay warm. Friendly staff and ok breakfast for 8 euros.

We travelled to Barcelona in October and it was love at first sight! The city is so beautiful and the weather in October was great. Hotel Ciutat Vella is having modern and clean rooms. The breakfast is manageable - you don't have a large selection but it is very good - I especially remember the delicious chocolate croissants :-) The... More

The hotel is really good - it has rather comfortable and clean rooms. There is free Wi-Fi everywhere. The situation of the hotel is excellent - it's just in the centre of the city, close to Rambla, Catalunia square. It's a wonderful place for shoppoholics. The breakfast isn't very big, but there is a wonderful coffee machine and you can... More

Booked this for a quiet last minute weekend away with the wife before Christmas. Pictures don't really do it justice. Clean, friendly staff, value for money - would maybe ask for food recommendations from the hotel though. The local restaurants weren't great. Amazing location for a short weekend stay.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
