The hotel is located in a beautiful old building on a funky little street near La Rambla in Barcelona but when you enter, it is very modern. Cheap and ugly looking but very functional. Reception staff are amazing. We were there for four nights and saw only Albert and Judith who are superstars, the best we met in Europe. They... More

The hotel is not bad at all. But out of the blue they charged me one night before my arrival a few days later. That was a first surprise. The next is they could have billing me 3 nights instead of 4 when I settled my bill. Nope. They said they will refund me the 'pre-authorization" charge later. Fine with... More

This hotel is located a short distance from La Rambla and is close to a number of metro stations. The rooms are modern, clean and are serviced daily. There is a great place for breakfast just steps down the street and there is also a supermarket for water nearby. The reception staff, Albert and his colleagues, are fluent in a... More

I stayed in this hotel for a day and a night whilst passing through Barcelona. The hotel is located in an excellent location, very close to Las Ramblas, specifically placa catalunya. Check in was alright. There were no problems. I wouldnt say the service was anything out of the ordinary, but it went pretty smoothly. I booked a single room,... More

I actually rented an apartment in the Gothic District, it was so loud I checked out after one night and checked in here! Very quiet, clean the staff was extremely nice & helpful! Breakfast was Delish! Great stay, rooms are small but foe Europe that's pretty normal!

Stayed here whilst visiting the F1 Grand Prix and was perfect for our needs. Hotel is located just a few minutes from Ramblas and other major sites. The street outside is buzzing with people but very limited traffic and the nights we were there we didn't come back to the hotel at night and noticed it was noisy. The hotel... More

Room was clean, hotel staff was nice. (Coffee machine in the lobby was perfect for my husband who cant stand the tiney little cafe americanos passing as a FULL cup of coffee). Rooms surprised us in size considering what we paid, and location was ideal! Only downfall is noise. But we were so tired from our days we had no... More

We stayed here for a long weekend and picked the hotel purely on location and price. We found the hotel to be quite spartan, but very functional and certainly well worth the price. The overall impression is very clean and the staff is professional and friendly. Breakfast was OK. Our room did not face the street so we didn't have... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
