We spent 4 delightful nights with Ana and her daughter Natalie while becoming acquainted with the lively city of Barcelona. The building was once a private home and had lovely features reflecting the era in which it was built. The breakfasts were very good -- fruit, yogurt, assorted breads and cereals, which is exactly how we usually eat at home.... More

My adult children (ages 18 and 21) and I spent a fabulous 9 days (March 20-28) in Barcelona. We stayed in Ana's recently renovated "apartment" on the first floor which had two large rooms separated by a pocket door and a modern bathroom with shower. Natalie, Ana's daughter, was more than accommodating as our needs changed during the week. We... More

I stayed for 3 nights in bedroom four on 6th floor with my daughter and it was terrific. Better than a hotel because Goncales has plenty of tips for where to go and what to do. Fantastic spot, right opposite the metro and buses, close to the old city but in a great part of town too. Plenty of tapas... More

At the outset, I should say that this was the first stop on our honeymoon. I have been to Europe (Spain, specifically) once before in college, and my wife has never been. We arrived in Barcelona around midday; Ana's was about a 20 minute cab ride (not too expensive) from the airport. Ana was there to greet us. She is... More

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is well located in a quiet section of town. Ana was very friendly and greeted us with a cup of tea. The room we had was relatively large with a double bed and small enclosed balcony. We recommend the dinner option - we went to a cafe we would not have known... More

This guesthouse is one of the most welcoming accommodations I have ever been to. Ana's daughter, Natalie, was very kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful. The location of the guesthouse is excellent as well. The subway is directly across the road, the Gràcia neighborhood is walkable, and so is La Familia Segrada. I will definitely be returning next time I am... More

Ana helped arrange direct transportation from the airport to her wonderful place. She offered refreshments and a very helpful orientation. The room was spacious, impeccably clean and comfortable. The B & B is located directly across the street from a metro stop. Breakfast buffet offers a wide selection of breads, meats, cheeses, home made jams, yogurt , cereals and robust... More

On our recent 6 night stay at Ana's B&B, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and a cup of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for Ana...from arranging tickets and offering advice on sightseeing options to catering to our morning flight with an early breakfast. The B&B is located just across the road from the Metro so it... More

When going to Barcelona, don't look any further ! This is the place to stay ! Well located and super place to stay. Ana is always there with an advice on where to go and what to do. We arrived a little bit scared because the B&B is not really obvious to find, but it's there and it is really... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
