I thoroughly recommend the Buba House as a great place to stay if you are visiting Barcelona on a budget. Well located close to Los Ramblos. The building is non descript and unspiring from the outside but like the Tardis when you go inside. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with a very pleasant decor. The free breakfast... We stayed at Buba House in September 2015 and the place is really nice! The location is perfect and the staff is very friendly. They have everything you may want from a hostel - breakfast, towels, linens, two bathrooms. The only thing that is not good - the double room is very noisy because it is located just above the... Stayed in Berlin just before Barcelona for the exact same price so was expecting something similar but unfortunately it wasn't as good. Slightly difficult to find as the sign isn't very big, lots of stairs to climb but that doesn't really bother me! There is a lift but it's pretty dodgy looking! Loved the style of the rooms and it... In a very quaint building! With the old style lifts. Slightly hard to find, needs a bigger sign, as we walked past it several times lost. But brilliant location and price considering its in the centre of Barca. Breakfast included which is great (continental). Friendly helpful staff! Brill for young backpackers on a budget. But beds not too comfy.

This hostel is a little gem. Not posh, not pretentious, but genuine and with a sincere mood. It is located in an early XX century building (making you feel almost local) very close to Casa Battlo and La Pedrera. Walls are coloured and the couches in the hall gives an overall atmosphere of coziness. The facilities may not be super... More

Buba House is a nice hostel, situated in the heart of Barcelona. It's just 5 minute walk away from Placa Catalunya and the city center. The facilities are OK, nothing exceptional, but you will be ok for 2-3 nights stay. Overall it's a nice place to stay in, while you are visiting Barcelona.

We arrived to the hostel later than expected because of a flight delay and they still didn't manage to change the sheets. I've been to hostels where I had to put sheets on the bed myself (which would have been fine) but they literally had not taken the sheets off the bed from the last guests stay despite us arriving... We spent 3 nights at Buba House last week and really liked it. The hostel is essentially in an apartment building above some shops. We stayed in a twin room - downfall here is the bunk beds, obviously great for saving space but they didn't seem that sturdy. The bathrooms were nice, and very clean for a hostel! There is... More

We have just come back from 4 nights in Buba house! Found the hostel to be very comfortable, we had a superior double on the carrera de Arago it was a bit noisy with the doors open but didn't cause us any problems. Bedding and towels provided free tea and coffee all day which was great after a day out.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
