Terrible. I got a terrible and a very small room. I spoke to Dima and requested for an upgrade, but was told no room available. Housekeeping staff never cleant our room. Its very scary place. It's very quiet place, although close to city centre. But I was very scared while entering the guest house. Seems to be a haunted guest... More

Great location to metro, Rambles, walking distance to many sights. Rooms provide all you need and are perfect if you are organised to use small spaces. We tend to be in room only to sleep so size was not an issue, rooms very quiet. Price terrific.

Found a reasonably priced room at the last minute at Pelayo Studios Guest House. Even using the directions provided on the guest house's website, we had a horrible time finding the address as it is not clearly marked. Asked at a nearby hotel for directions, and they were not even aware this property existed. So we called the number provided... More

We chose this studio apt. for the price and location. It was only 2 blocks from La Rambla and the beautiful Playca Catalunya with access to the Hop-on/off bus and all other forms of transportation. Numerous eateries and shops are easily within walking distance. (less than 1 block) On site management is limited during the day (10AM-4PM), however they were... More

No doubt the location is nice: near the famous Ramblas in Barcelona. As to the hotel...I cannot say the same. It was the worst experience I have ever had. A nice receptionist welcomes you in a drab reception that looks like a cage. As you open the door to your room you´re welcome by a bunch of flees. Dust is... More

Definitely a good price/quality rate! You can have a private room and a private bathroom for less than what you pay for a ten bed dorm room in another hostel! Also, very well located! I recommand it!!!

The first time I stayed here I had an amazing room at the front which was quite cheap. The only problem was noise from the street which is a common complaint about Barcelona. The second time I had quite a basic tiny room which was fine for the price although there was still a bit of noise from an inner... More

We stayed for a week in the room with bunk beds. Very small room, with basic furniture and a little window facing the inner courtyard. The room and the bathroom were clean and towels were changed almost everyday. Wifi was free and worked with surprisingly good speed. The staff we encountered on check-in did not speak english but we understood... More

We had a room with 3 beds and it was very clean. The rooms are very suitable for travellers who don't seek any luxury. There was also a fridge and water heater in the room. The staff was friendly but they didn't speak english very well. The main door of the hotel was weird and it was difficult to open... More

We got in and the person at the reception said there was a problem with our room. We ordered a 2 bed room with a bathroom but instead we got a queen sized bed with a bathroom. As much as it wasn't the best to sleep in the same bed, having your own private bathroom is very unusual for hostels... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
