This place is a good location, we pretty much walked everywhere in Barcelona - mainly because we enjoy getting lost and seeing what we can find. Has decent transport links to everywhere (inc the airport) so is spot on. As for the Hotel, The reception area of the hotel was clean and nice, nothing special but nothing to complain about.... Nice blacked out curtains to ensure a nice long sleep! Jacuzzi was great and location is perfect. Staff are friendly and got us what we asked for - blanket, extra pillows and a kettle. It takes 7 mins to walk to La Rambla and 20 mins to the sea. Check out the indoor food market halfway down La Rambla, it's... More

We chose this hotel because it was very close to the centre of Barcelona. Unfortunately that was its only advantage. Very noisy at nights, poor breakfast with few options, staff was polite but nothing more. The shower was floading every time we bathed! If you have sleeping problems, definately DO NOT choose this hotel. Not a star hotel at all!

Make sure you have two hundred euro cash if you are sick and need to call doctor. Eager to take your debit card for hotel transaction. Won't facilitate you with cash on your debit card. Asked for a pot of tea and milk. Had to wait an hour. Very disorganised faulty Towers. No bar that I could see. 2 euro... More

Quite central hotel for what we wanted, room clean and tidy, minibar in room. I have read the negative reviews and can't understand what people are wanting? Yes it's a basic hotel but you can't ask for more for the money you pay? We would recommend this hotel and would definately stay again!

Loved the location! I've visited Barcelona uncounable times and I used to live here as well so I know the city better than the city where I live now. But it's somehow hard to find affordable hotels with a location as perfect as this. The rooms was very clean and spacious and the small balcony was perfect! A little bit... More

Have to wonder who rates these hotels-have stayed in hotels all over the world and this would struggle to get to two stars. First night, heat was unbearable-had to go down to reception in early hours and plea for heating to be turned down-told they have turned off air conditioning and put heating on - all over hotel!! Swapped room,... More

Excellent location and very clean room but very basic. Unhelpful receptionist, no secure luggage area, lifts old, reception and lounge area basic, room tiny, window did not open to the outside so no air, view of a wall, shower terrible with no light. Would not visit again.

We stayed one night in this hotel for a quick visit to Barcelona. The hotel is in the city centre and you can easily walk to all places. Sagrada familia, Placa catalunya, rambles etc. The receptionists were both very attentive, respectful and with knowledge of other languages, (spanish, catalan, english and Italian). At all times they were so helpful and... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
