Booked my trip back in September 2015 to stay in the last weekend of January 2016 for 2 nights. Arrived at the hotel and the couple ahead of us was told that the hotel was overbooked so there was no room for them. The exact same happened to us when we tried to check-in. We were told that we would... More

Just returned from a short break at this hotel. We found it very welcoming, clean and comfortable with very pleasant staff. The surroundings were nice, the room had all we needed although tea and coffee making facilities in the room would improve the overall stay. There is a machine available on the ground floor. The hotel is situated on a... More

We stayed for 3 nights at the Onix prior to our Christmas cruise on the Norweigen Epic. We had previously reviewed this Hotel on Trip adviser and someone recommended asking for a room at the back which is what we got. Although it was down a side street off form the main Ramblas street it was very quiet. The Hotel... More

The hotel is situated very close to the most known street in Barcelona, famous La Rambla. It has good connection with the airport, via L3 metro line (Liceo / Drassanes station) or via Aerobus, from Plaza Catalunya. The room was comfortable, nice on interior, very clean (service on each day). The breakfast was good, many kind of products to choose,... More

We enjoyed a 5 night stay here very much. The location cannot be faulted and was our main reason for choosing. The breakfast is excellent, really fresh and great variety. We upgraded to a delux room with a patio, it was not worth the money, the room still seemed very small, not as the photos suggested and the patio was... More

Fantastic location (only a few minutes walk from La Ramblas), clean, modern, contemporary hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately this hotel is let down by not having any tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. There is a communal tea/coffee machine but you have to supply your own milk and it was out of order for the entirety of our... More

The room was light, clean, roomy and very comfy. It was also quiet! Each day it was cleaned and tidied, and always smelled fresh when we returned at night. A substantial breakfast buffet prepared us for a day of exploring the wonderful city. The staff were always friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us with... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
