I have been very remiss in not writing sooner about my stay at the Onix Liceo as they had asked for a review following my stay there in 2009! Given that it was 6 years ago that I stayed there and yet still feel compelled to write a review to ease my conscience for being so lazy clearly demonstrates how... More

Stayed for one night in Barcelona en route to the airport. Communal areas of the hotel are clean and attractive, wish we had stayed longer and had time to enjoy the patio and pool area. Great location near the end of Las Ramblas and near Barcelonetta. Room was modern, clean and bathrooms were good, although walls a little thin as... More

Hotel was funky looking, as in very art deco and trendy but the rooms were standard and simple. If you are not staying in the hotel much this is the perfect location as it is on a side road off La Ramblas but don’t bother asking the reception staff anything, re nightlife, what to do or where to go as... Stayed in this hotel during a business trip for a night's stay during March 2014. Arrived quite late and tired, and was allocated a nice and comfortable room. the ambience in the room is nice, the hotel is ideally located next to Las Ramblas main street of Barcelona, and can be reached via public transportation with the subway lines L2... This hotel was no more than satisfactory and, therefore, worthy of three stars. Its location, just off the Rambla, is not one of the more salubrious areas but there is a good cake shop c100m.to the left of the hotel (as you look at it) for breakfast. The rooms at the front (even on the fifth floor) can be rather... More

Great location, exceptionally clean hotel. Breakfast was great. You could not ask for better service from the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is just off La Rambles with many good restaurants nearby. You can walk to many of the major sights. Has a lift so you do not need to carry bags up to your room.

Booked through hotels.com which made it a good deal. Small street of the Rumbla street. Not the best neighborhood. The hotel is new renovated, very esthetic. Service nice. The room was small but a big wide bed. The air condition could no be stopes and was overheating. Free slow wifi

The hotel is in a busy street off las ramblas. The common areas are very nice as one can see from the pictures. Very design with classical Spanish and Moorish patterns. The rooms are spacious with large bathrooms. On the negative side, sound insulation from room to room and room to hallways is terrible. You can hear everything if someone... More

Booked here for a Valentines Weekend break in one of my favourite cities. I decided to pay a bit more for a nice hotel, and did I feel I got value for money, well no not really. Rooms was nice and clean, breakfast was good and plentiful. But it just missed that 'something'. Would I stay here again, no, there... More

I stayed for three nights at the Onix with my brother and the stay was lovely. The hotel had a great location for almost all the tourism cites you are looking for, Its two blocks away from the famous La Rambla street. The rooms were big and clean with a nice LCD screen. For what we paid, Im definitely giving... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
